Regarding the 'replacing the nurse' tavern upgrades - it doesn't replace her completely, it just replaces her as being guaranteed. She can still show up.
@OlexaYT replacing her with the tax collector pretty much guarantees you can get her since he gives 30 coins for 10 souls. Especially good if you make it cheaper to to refresh or use healing! And it means you can almost always afford everything you want from the black market if it turns up. It's pretty easy to make sure you get the alignment for the final bosses (especially since you can buy things in the first floor of the region if you're short) so unless you need the hearts/dashes/mana (which you clearly don't--you do fine without them) then you can use the souls much more effectively to buy dice/re-enchant/skip gold rewards.
The one time attuning at the beginning of floor does anything is after buying from the post boss shops. Their items aren't attuned so you can attune them there.
my best run ever was actually using galactic bible, got the perfect amount of perks and such were i could hit a 100k crit repeatedly. took out primal death in a few seconds
Adding X damage type basically means that your weapon now inflicts its debuff (fire damage inflicts burn, lightning damage inflicys shock, etc) - giving lightning weapons 45 more lightning damage really doesnt do anything when you couldve inflicted burn or poison
Blowing up chests gives you stuff like money, keys, bombs I've even got a soul heart from time to time. Useful when you have bad options but one of them is a chest.
There is a skill that makes a magic weapon in your first inventory slot go off whenever you crit; the volcano book would be amazing for that. Also, one of the tech tree skills I love is the one where you get +2 gold for every consecutive sale at a pawn shop. It's common to sell most of your inventory at once, and if you sell your whole inventory that's an extra 72 gold on top of the sale price.
As far as I know, Twilight Branch will never give you a negative enchantment, nor will the Enchantress. "Unstoppable" is a great enchantment (Legendary actually, the enchantments are color coded too) -- "+25% Not Very Effective Damage" actually means that it does 25% more damage against enemy types it is weak against. There are actually elemental weaknesses and defenses which is where the 'super effective' and 'not very effective' hits come in to play; it took me a while to realize that's what those meant.
@@chris-vh9qu A binding of Isaac character that, I think, starts with a random item and random stats. They also look different too. Basically, a character that is never the same at the start of a run.
@nordvirus6671 some cold weapons can also apply Frostbite which is a DoT, and i think theres a piece of gear that makes anything that applies Chill also apply Frostbite
19:50 "I feel like I ran directly into that enemy and didn't take damage" The enemy was jumping; they don't have collision damage when they're jumping.
It obviously didnt matter, but for future reference I guess Buffs are going to be generally located to the right of your character page when you open that up. It gives you the numbers on what potions and Rage do and the like, and they update when you get stuff like "each point of INT increases BUFFS". This can also see if potions stack with the infinite duration perk, i havent looked. Additionally, the lightning incense you took was basically a permanent infusion, though stuff started dying way too fast for them to even GET to max stacks so trading away that perk was absolutely the best choice. Also, the oasis gives you a permanent stamina recovery bonus, im fairly sure its around 25%? Fun episode!
Per the assassin's set bonus, taunt is a debuff and not an ailment so it gets no bonus. Ailments are generally things that do damage over time, or upon accumulating a certain amount of stacks and then triggering
Ailments are all the effects caused by damage types. So the set did have an effect as he had the yellow spice, meaning the shock did add 40% more damage instead of the usual, which might have even been more damage than the surgeons mask (at higher int though the mask would have definitely been better)
I’m catching up on the series and had to have a laugh because I thought that souls were meta currency as well and I never spent them during runs either.
You are a beast for riding that run to completion. Not gonna lie I would've just reset the run after floor 4. You got abysmally bad luck. Half the rooms spammed shitty weapons you didn't need and the other half were generalized garbage that you can't build something into.
If you happend to get a black market on floor one with nothing, it's often worth selling your weapon and/or armor if there is a very strong weapon for sale. You've enjoyed the Railgun before, so it could've been a great play. Weapons are definitely the most important factor that determines character strength early on, so it's usually worth it.
@@OlexaYT when i just used it today i was given evil for every interaction down there. I got loads of money from selling, a few charms, and an illegal gun part, and ended up at 8 evil, that was right after starting as the pyromancer and bee-lining some chests and a tavern. Previous runs have also gained evil like crazy that same way.
Looks like you got lucky/unlucky with the items in there. It’s not a guarantee that every action gives evil. You can watch almost every single one of my runs and see that haha
@@OlexaYT could be, i do have BIZARRE luck, more or less inverted graph. But it was something i relied on for a lot of my runs… have an odd habit of finding curse and evil based items even when trying for other stuff.
i think the cinder modifier that makes boss rooms enchanted is unfun as the bosses are already very well designed and some of them result in undodgable damage because they weren't thought out for enchantments. the automatons are fine cause you get to decide whether you kill them first or you don't care
To me, I don't take the revive meta upgrade because if i die on a run, theres a decent chance I'll just die again because that run wasn't going well - but anything that revives me on the run feels so cheaty because its just garuanteed not to die - I want big numbers, not safety (:< Also increasing crit chance gives diminishing returns past a certain point - i love crit rate as much as the next roguelike gal, don't get it twisted, but I just want to math my enemies into unaliveness
Next time i will read the in game mechanics. Forgive me, i apologize and Let you take that Point about attunement but i have learned something more from video thanks. Keep going you are the greatest in game my type. Love you bro ❤ 😂
not really. if youre already aligned its great to have but youre not always going to align yourself according to the item. double damage doesnt mean your run is won especially not at cinder 16
