Yes, I am aware that other people have done this. But in case you haven't seen the videos, here's mine. I do not own undertale. Undertale belongs to the wonderful Toby Fox.
I replied this to another guy and I’m gonna say it again. Out of the 101 OST’s in Undertale, 48 of them are original. And even if it takes less time to compose, it takes ages to mix it, transcribe it into different keys and orchestrate it. At the least, it must have taken Toby a year. So can you Imbeciles stop downplaying hard work!
Turtles Yeet bruv i wasn't downplaying his work even IF there are only 4 "songs" the music is still amazing and the game itself is just the best thing ever.
Coolkie YT yeah, but there’s a massive difference between 4 “songs” and 48 pieces, it takes much less time for the first and a considerable amount more for the second, it may be awesome soundtracks, but either way, you’re just downplaying his work.
it makes it seem so much more worse knowing its this song (i just came back 2 years later and this has a lot of likes which i did not expect whatsoever omg lol)
Everyone: finding hidden motifs Musically inclined fans: You guys didn't know about this? Toby Fox: *madly remixing the same 6 songs for the entire OST*
ltloxA Undertale 48 original soundtracks, the rest are remixes or mixed up. Don’t forget that the entire soundtrack must’ve taken a year as mixing up & orchestrating the tracks to have a different tone is really hard.
@@emmamora7 Im not questioning the effort that went in to it, I just dont believe that 48 songs werent in any way a warriation of one or multiple other songs.
it´s called a leitmotif. It´s when songs that are meant to be related have similar notes and sections. It's not lazy, it's a technique used to give more life to music, and to make the listener know that they are related somehow.
@@Mari-hp4tl 1:you replied to your own comment. 2: He wasn't, really. He was happy you decided to go full Geno, but even he thought it was too much. Even he tries to stop you.
@@lolwhileulaugh1761 maybe its cuz u don't understand the meaning of a joke? Maybe if you stopped your head from going boom so much maybe you would not be such a boomer.
Toby: * composes one song * Also toby: now, lets troll the internet and make sped up versions of the same song but pretend it's completely different. Internet: ... toby you FUUUU-
StingingGolf395 he still composed it, you moron. its more of a remix or, actually, in this case, a reimagining, or a hoax. flowey is pretty evil, hes heartless and even tries to kill you on multiple occasions, but when you meet him, this plays, almost as a way to say that not everything is as it seems.
* But nobody came... * ...? * Why does... * This f-feeling... * The sound... * Is getting faster... ???: "Oh, well it looks like somebody came..." "It's me..." Flowey: "Your best friend!"
@@KirbyFan99Productions do y'all know how much time and effort it taked to mix and change up tunes? he uses music as clues to relate everything to each other, like how all the ghosts have a similar base tune, and how everything related to flowey has sort variation fo his theme so that you can know it has to do with flowey. imagine if he created a whole new and very distinct tune for every single little thing. the game would be chaotic and barely enjoyable as too much diversity in music can just distract and disorient you y'all know absolutely nothing about story telling and game making and it shows
Not necessarily. What the songs are called in the game's files are different from their actual names. For example, Last Goodbye is not called Express Myself.
You know what is sad about Flowey’s leitmotif? That is, the slowed down version known as “But nobody came”. If Flowey remained underground instead of following along to the surface, then this hits hard. Flowey, all alone while everyone else are on said surface. Frisk potentially being the only one who might go back to the underground to visit Flowey.
I guess it makes sense why Floweys theme is heard since the word "but nobody came" is dedicated to when Asriel turned into a flower he called out "Mommy! Daddy! Somebody help!" But nobody came...
One of many example Toby's cleverness in game lore writing. The sense of uneasiness and fear of being followed I got everytime the line "But nobody came" along with this soundtrack came up with an empty, hollow battle room turned out to be a fact. So it's not the monsters who triggered the fights and ran away, as I always thought I wouldn't be triggering fights if nobody's actually there. So I thought, someone must've been playing with me, followed me around, patted my shoulder from behind and went hiding as I turned around. Someone who had the power to be anywhere like sans, someone who's obsessed with you. Someone like Flowey.
people that both like games and like to mess around with music would do something like that. it probably wasn't 1200% specifically, but whoever found it first prob sped it up and recognized what happened
kamilex303 ;] You don't see it? THE DISTORTED-LIKE MUSIC IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE SLOWED DOWN VERSION OF FLOWEY'S THEME. And that's the original speed(?) for the theme with the slowed down version aka Nobody Came. We wouldn't know in the beginning, right? Until this wonderful person has finally solved the "case", or you experience yourself!
This Is a proof that you're best friend is spying you. When you must kill everyone, he theme sounds because he is the only around, but slower because he is not directly with you.
Also this theme plays because it’s called “But nobody came.” and in the Omega Flowey fight Flowey says “Come on! Cry for help! *Mommy, daddy, somebody help me! But nobody came.* “ and Flowey is probably talking about his experience when he woke up in the garden. (Yes, I know, Asgore came and helped but you know how the story goes, now he’s DEFINITELY alone)
This was a common thing to do in the older games, since there was not a lot of space for a larger variety of music, so they just changed the sounds to different speeds for different characters to save space.
While the sped up version of 'But nobody came' sounds like 'Your best friend's It creeps me out even more because it sounds like a slightly corrupted or messed up (idk how to explain it) version. I also can hear like some breathing in the background of something. Either way it gives me the chills. _Lots_ of chills.
@@thegreatlunala6363 Maybe I should just use a different theme. After all, I do need an original theme. My theme is literally the FUN song slowed down, and Lavender Town sped up.
