Get to know god and he will reveal himself to you , seek and ye shall find... Gods less a mystery the more you get to know him...

I think there is a confusion between needing and wanting. Creation needs God otherwise it will cease to exist, however God doesn't need his creation, he can press on delete button and he will be just fine. God wants to create (for whatever reason, no one can assume to know) and he does what he wants. Even us we create things that we really don't need, we create them because we want to or for fun, and sometimes just because we can :)

I found that gutman locks video! It’s not Chabad or Torah to say need… goes against 13 principles of faith… right?? It’s going to prevent people from teshuvah… “important not essential”… Wants oneness not Needs??
