Butaleja rice farmers not getting their hard work’s worth 

Rice is a delicacy in many cultures; and in Uganda, Butaleja is one of the main rice growing districts.
Only one variety of rice is grown, and because of poor yields and lack of good after-harvest processes, the rice grown in Butaleja cannot compete with imported rice.
This, as a result, has led to farmers earning little from their back breaking work.
