Butlins 2021 (The Things We Wish We Knew Before We Went) 

Just returned from Butlins Bognor Regis yesterday, it was a perfect 4 night 5 day trip for our 2 year old. He loved every minute of it. The Peppa and Thomas shows were really good for him and they had several rides perfect for him being just 90cm. The pool was really nice and my husband and I got to do all the slides each time during both of our 1.5 hour sessions. The food choices we're really good but we didn't have a dine around or buffet plan so it was hard for us to get a dinner place unless we went to dinner very early, but the town is only a quick 10 minute walk to give you tons more food options. We had no trouble using the food app or the booking app, both worked very well and during the shows once my order was placed, the order arrived within 3-5 minutes. I agree that the fair rides should go at least until 6 and then maybe a couple circus style performers would be nice. The arcade ticket line was long, my husband and I said they should go to an Argos style system, where people can pick out their items and have the bags ready for pickup at the desk. It could all be done on the app. The desk would only have to scan in the ticket bar codes for verification of accuracy.

I wished I watched your video a month ago. We went to butlins Bognor Regis for the first time in February. Your tips were useful. I was panicking about the shows booked up on the app. It wasn't lol. I can confirm that the b serve app for booking drinks, has improved. We got our drinks served within 10 minutes 👍🏾

The last time i went to butlins was about 12 years ago. I would love to go to butlins since at the moment foreign travel is hard and I would like to see whats changed. Ive been eyeing up the live music weekends and the prices arnt bad. I saw for the 00’s weekend in mine head for a sliver room for three nights with a premium dining plan and entertainment included for about 200 quid. It would also be nice to see you make a vlog about the food at butlins. Did you have a dining plan or did you make your own food?

Totally agree with the lack of staff when ordering drinks, it was a waste of time by the time they arrived. Also extremly disappointing regarding the lack of night entertainment, you get to see 1 show an evening, so either have to stay in appartment until 9pm before late show, of return back to appartment by 9pm as nothing else to do or go.

Great video, great advice. We are going in August and the app has no availability for any of the activities. Tried since early July. So we are going but have been unable to book anything. I’ve spoken to butlins but I was just told to keep trying.

I used to work at butlins minehad, The reason the fair isn't open late is because they use the fairground staff to help clean chalets in the morning then help in bars/restaurants in the evening and because its free it's not profitable to keep it open. Also they can't have outdoor stage anymore because they had noise complaints last year from local residents.

They keep the funfair closed as long as often as they can as each ride is about 50 years old! There’s only so much juice you can get out of a lemon!

Hey guys lovely to hear you guys had a good time at splash world I work as a lifeguard I believe butlins should do a lot more entertainment throughout the day ! We are short staffed at the moment but slowly picking up again I hope you all return soon.

Very helpful video. We are going to Butlins today. 1st time Butlins visitors to Bognor Regis and first time ever Butlins. We have plans to cook all through because our kids are super fussy eaters due to sensory needs from Autism 😢. But we love to have some Butlins fun.

The reason there's hardley any redcoats swanning around is because a lot of them are having to fill in, in other roles, inc the bars, shops, cleaning duties, behind the scenes, wardrobe etc, this is due to all the overseas staff having gone home during lockdowns & then being unable to return, if you ask the security/door staff for extra table/chairs, they bring them for you, they don't turn anyone away, they have to fully sanitize the venue between each show thats why guests can't sit around too long like before. Hopefully we can all get our lives back soon, enjoyed the vlogs btw, nothing like a family holiday 😊👍

We’ve been before loads before COVID and have been 3 times since COVID, and we’ve loved it all in both cases. They are trying to stay open during a bad time so us people can have holidays, with not many aboard holidays. And the thing with mask wearing butlins or anywhere can make people wear a mask if you worked in the retail sector etc like I do then you would know how hard it is to get people to wear them

Buy ur drinks from spar shop downstairs and take into renters tags. Cheaper

Last summer after first lockdown had a outdoor stage which has been replaced by studio 36 but i agree book more then 1 show last year was fine i had 2 or 3 shows booked every evening snd they could overlap

Just returned from Minehead 70's weekend. Had a great time overall but here's a couple of moans. Queing in the freezing cold to get in Reds or the Skyline for over an hour. Price of drinks almost a fiver for a 3/4 pint of Guiness. I haven't been to Butlins for 20 odd years and noticed some big changes. You used to pay in advance and most things were free. Now its money money money. No Redcoats I didn't see one the whole weekend. Cant complain about the food it was excellent.

And crazy golf is awesome

Ours didn't take to long to come at bognor. We did get a refund on a drink as it was busy.they told us at bognor we had to leave and take drinks with us if u leave anything on table ut goes in bin. They were short staffed everywhere . Security at bognor were telling people to put masks on. I've had both my jabs and still wear mask.

i’m going to butlin’s in august 2022, is masks still mandatory? because covid is dying down it’s not completely gone, just wondering cause my mum threw all the masks away 😭😭

You can see more than 1 show per night while at butlins, however you can only book 1 show per night in advance, the other shows would have to be booked on day of that show.

Im sorry but minehead is a little town and we dont have a big population and dont feel that all of us want to work on butlins we have had struggles with staff everywhere not just butlins

They can’t produce staff out of thin air unfortunately, all of hospitality is short staffed! Nobody wants to do it anymore!
