This and Sanjyot Keer's video are the best Butter Chicken videos on youtube. This video actually motivated me to learn Hindi. I cooked this recipe at my friend's flat, after buying all the ingredients I didn't already have, and said "I found this video that's aimed at Indians that shows the real way to cook Butter Chicken" and he said it was the best curry he ever tasted. Hi. I don't understand Hindi. How long should I cook the tomatoes before I puree it? Also, may I ask you to translate this part to English @9:20 to @10:24 please? Your reply would be greatly appreciated.

Cook the tomatos on low flame (covered) for 15 mins. For 9:20 onwards - pour the tomato puree into the pan, don't mix any water at this stage. Cover the pan and let it cook for 5-6 mins or until the gravy releases oil, keep stirring in between to avoid sticking at bottom since it has cashews. The part where he's transferring the gravy to other utensils - he got busy in between and needed the utensil for his work. It's irrelevant to the recipie, you can ignore it.. Hope it helps after this whole year. Also do let me know how it turned out for you. This is my go to recipie and I am writing this comment so that others can also enjoy this savory dish

@@carolhariramani8831 hi, sorry for the late reply. I cook tomatoes for atleast 15 minutes to make them less sour. And from 9:20 - dont let chilli powder burn, cook it for 1-2 minutes on low flame, then add the prepared paste and DO NOT add water during this step and let it cook for 5-6 minutes till oil seperates stirring occasionally so it does not burn, then add chicken in it and cook with the sauce and now you can add water. Also, at 10:07 you do not need to change the cooking vessel, just keep cooking in the same one.

Chef is master of everything.... I love the authentic recipe and actual ingredients you share. We all love you for this truthfulness. All other chefs hide main ingredients and you dont do that. I have only recently started cooking chicken recipes. And many times the chicken overcooks and becomes chewy…. Entire effort goes waste. But, but but…. Whenever I have tried recipes by chef Ashok, they have turned yum. He explains so well. I had tried this butter chicken recipe when a bunch of friends were coming over, one of them has been in restaurant business for more than 20 years…so obviously I was pretty nervous. But man what magic happened that day… everybody simply loved the butter chicken. Thank you so much Chef Ashok. Whenever I make non-veg, I always look for your recipes only. 👌🏼
