INT. BUTTER'S HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
Butter's mom and dad are in the living room. Dad is on the couch reading the paper, and mom is standing behind the couch cleaning one of the stands next to it with Pledge and a rag.
Butters walks in with a very poorly wrapped gift.
BUTTERS
Alright mom, I'm all done wrappin' dad's anniversary present for you!
BUTTER'S MOM
Oh! You did a great job, Butters!
Butters hands the gift towards his dad.
BUTTERS
So can he open it now?
BUTTER'S MOM
Not until Saturday. That's our anniversary.
BUTTER'S DAD
Oh it's someone's anniversary soon?
BUTTER'S MOM
Oh you!
BUTTER'S DAD
Just kidding!
(Taking the gift from Butters and shaking it)
Oho, I wonder what it is!
BUTTERS
It's a-- Aw shucks, I can't tell you. But it's really nifty!
BUTTER'S DAD
Well, it looks like we're gonna have to do something EXTRA special for mommy and daddy's anniversary this year... Alright, how about on Saturday we all go have dinner at Chili's?!
Butters lights up.
BUTTERS
Chili's?! Oh boy, you mean it?!
Butters starts running around in circles.
BUTTERS (CONT'D)
Whoopie, Chili's!!! I'm gonna get the Citris Fire Chicken Crispers! No wait! The Ranch Hand Baby Back Ribs!
BUTTER'S MOM
(Laughing)
Calm down there, cowboy, you still got four days.
BUTTERS
Four days!? Oh I don't know HOW I'm gonna wait that long!
SONG MONTAGE (Mostly old footage)
While a cheesy theme song plays, we see quick shots of Butters at his best from previous South Park episodes.
SINGER
Who's the boy that can laugh at a storm cloud? Who can turn a frown into a smile for free? Who's the kid with a heart full of magic? Everyone knows that it's BUTTERS!
Butters suddenly appears porky pig style in the video and announces to camera:

SINGER
Who's the boy that with eyes full of wonder? Who thinks being yourself is the best thing to be? Who's that rascal with the tweezers in his pocket? Everyone knows that it's BUTTERS!
BUTTERS
Wul, wul, that's me!
SINGER
Jumpin' in puddles, skipping down the hallway, pettin' goats at the pettin' zoo. He loves John Elway.
SINGER (CONT'D)
Who is that tike with the cutest little dimples? Batting his eyes at everyone that he sees? If you look inside yourself you may be surprised when you find - a little boy named Butters.
BUTTERS
And that's... That's me, I suppose.
ANNOUNCER

INT. BUTTER'S HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
Butter's mom is dusting the framed picture by the window. Butter's dad is reading a paper on the couch.
Butters is sitting at the coffee table, writing on a piece of paper.
The poorly wrapped gift is still on the coffee table.
BUTTERS
Four more days til we eat at Chili's! That's... 96 hours... Aw, gee wiz.
BUTTER'S MOM
Butters, if you watch the clock it goes slower.
BUTTERS
Really?
Butters' dad gets up and puts the paper down.
BUTTER'S DAD
Well, if you two will excuse me, I need to go out and buy a certain special lady HER anniversary present!
BUTTER'S MOM
I hope he means me!
Butters' mom and dad laugh together.
BUTTERS
Don't be silly, mom, of course he means you.
BUTTER'S DAD
(Heading to the door)
I'll be back in a little bit. Butters, YOU'RE in charge of the house!
BUTTERS
Yes, sir!
Butter's dad smiles and walks out the door.
BUTTER'S MOM
Oooh, I wonder what he's going to get me this year!
BUTTERS
You won't know 'til we're at Chili's eatin' Southwestern Eggrolls!
BUTTER'S MOM
Every year it's the same. Your father gets me some great gift and my gift to him falls short. I've GOT to outdo him this year! I've just GOT to!
BUTTERS
Dad's a good shopper, alright!
BUTTER'S MOM
Butters... maybe you could secretly follow your dad to see what he's getting me.
BUTTERS
You mean spy on him? But ain't that kinda like fibbin?
BUTTER'S MOM
No, it's a little different.
Butters mom goes to the desk and opens a drawer. She takes out a little badge.
BUTTER'S MOM (CONT'D)
You remember when the nice policeman gave you a badge and made you a honorary inspector?
BUTTER
(Looking proudly at the badge)
Sure I do!
BUTTER'S MOM
Well... I think Inspector Butters could find out what daddy's getting mommy without him ever knowing! What'dya say?
BUTTERS
(Saluting)
Inspector Butters is on the case, ma'am!
