This is so brilliant. I often feel like a marked deck isn't that useful because most effects are doable with enough skill and an unmarked deck. The butterfly deck lets you do impossible things though, very glad I made he investment. Just got them today and I'm still giddy.
"Some people don't wanna use a marked deck because they feel like they're *cheating* " ... Is that not what we magicians do? The thing i worry about with marked decks is being "found out" if the marks are too obvious
OMG =) My Butterfly Deck finally arrived :) It is so incredible good! The marking system is so genius and simple to learn! I really recommend the Butterfly Deck!!! The 30$ are totally worth it! Great work, love it
@@francescogiacomopelagatti8221 Yes! There is a full video course in which Ondřej is explaining the marking system and he also teaches many awesome tricks you can perform with these cards.
So, the cards are unavailable now, from the link provided. I purchased them from a magic store online in the UK, but no instruction video link was supplied. So is it not possible to use these cards if buying from the places that actually have stock?
Where are thoes videos that you talked about? I have ordered this deck but i havent get any download with it :( I heard that they have instruction cards on it explaining the marking system, but where can i find thoes videos? Is there a link on the card ? :P
I have a deck of Carta Mundi. Not because I bought them but because the worker's union was handing card decks during a strike. (I'm Belgian, so yeah, we got Belgian cards) They are very thick in my opinion but also very sturdy. And they will last you a while. Mine aren't marked though. So it's harder to use them in any trick.
Hi, I bought the cards but couldn't find the link to the instructional videos I only found the one card explaining the marking. Can anyone please tell me where to find the those 7 clips that Ondrej mentions on 5:50
The instructional video should be in your account if you purchased them from us. In this video Ondreij mentions there are different clips, but on our system I could just find one video that runs for approximately 53:22, so it looks like they are all together in that download. If you is having trouble finding it please email magic@vanishingincmagic.com and our Support Wizards will help you out.
@@VanishingIncMagic -i don't understand the description written below in the website about marked and unmarked,is it marked or not and what color is it? -does it come with instuctional video?
I know it is. I just haven't picked up the deck so i do not know the secret to the marking on the butterfly deck (I think I may have seen it once but I have not learnt it). For me, i get a lot of satisfaction out of slight of hand (not that I'm any good at it) and marked cards just feels like cheating (I know it's all cheating but still). So i doubt I will pick that deck up any time soon.
I have. Aren't we fortunate that he chose quality over a monopoly who can take a dump in a box and sell it. The power of branding. If capitalism was not geopolitical, Cartamundi would put USPCC out of business
@@Jdtackett0226 They just bought USPCC. Also, USPCC had allways better quality, stock, paper that is. Finish is up to taste, but paper is just better there. CartaMundi however has better printing (never ONCE their cards are printed off cener, USPCC does that regulary, thats the very reason why this deck had to be printed in Belgium, since the edge is so important).
Id LOVE to have this same deck with the edge marking just if it wasnt a one way back design. I HATE that. It is WAY to obvious for me, I have been called on this way too many times on that. Its just obvious to anybody whos trying to catch you. And the craziest thing is I NEVER used it as a one way deck XD I hate that feature and allways had, Id damn gve anything if someone would print this same cards just with the different detail on that middle. Its just too obvious. Why you did it one way, damn....this is SUCH A GREAT idea (the other feature), and it has been ruined by that damn thing, which is not usefull at all to me in the first place.
Mr Ondrej: I do admire your passion and enthusiasm towards card magic. Nonetheless, please do not foment performing card tricks and illusions with marked and gimmicked cards. That is unfair and dirty. Moreover, it does demean real magicians who spend years learning how to execute card mircales and wonders with clean decks. Do not encourage young magicians to be lazy and robotic. By "enhancing" this shallow approach, you discourage them from studying sleight-of-hand moves, magic theory, mathematical principles, and psichology. Besides, are you too naive to think that your marking system can't be detected by laymen?? Come on! When laymen see such an intricate and flashy deck they know something is fishy. Imagining yourself performing: What would you do if spectators told you to execute the same tricks again by using somebody else's deck?? So, please respect magicians and don't underestimate spectators.
something is always fishy with tricks because... it's what they are ^^ what's the number one thing people ask you after an effect? " _how did you do that?_ " they rarely go : " wow it's magic! " but that's just my 2 cents.
