We love documenting the lifecycles of Florida's butterflies. In this video we will highlight the Southern Oak Hairstreak butterfly (Fixisia Satyrium favonius). It is a spring time butterfly and its larval host plant is oak. The females readily lay eggs in captivity but these eggs diapause for an entire year!
