Butterfly Setting 

Thanks. I made this in a couple of days (had to practice a couple of steps). It didn't come out perfectly the first time but fairly nice. You make a couple of steps look easier than they are. In particular, I used the Lion Punch Forge tool, the Lion's Claw Silver to gently hold the right angle ring in place on the shank during soldering.

Another wonderful idea and tutorial!!! It was also important to see what to do when the stone doesn't snap in :))) i bet it would be like that for most of us! :))) thank you!!

Can you make a tutorial on how to make our own tube wires? It's hard to find ready made wires in all the sizes that we want, especially in 18kt gold, so it would be nice to know how to make them ourselves.

I have a 3.8mm stone that I would like to do this with. What dimensions should I have on the shank and butterfly piece?

Are there certain brittle stones that won't work in a setting like this; emerald for example?

WelI I tried this today and it didn't work. Just plain frustration, 4 hours down the tubes.
