butterick is basic styles and p&p are great at teaching fit. great for teaching beginners how to sew, fit, and visualize. good job.

Tiff, love your review. Many of the patterns you are considering are the same I'm considering, but when they drop at Joann's I will see. I agree that they need line art on each pattern. Great review! I love the format you did!

Very enjoyable review and I agree with your thoughts - I saw the cape earlier and loved it but thought it was too fancy until you pointed out it could be made in a different fabric - duh! I like 6982 as well for the top.

I had a cape like when I went to college. I absolutely loved it UNTIL I started driving a car. Once you sit I. The car, you can’t raise your arms to drive!

I like the format ✔️I agree with your comments too. Butterick have several shirt dress patterns now that could be hacked style wise anyway. I have a thing for shirt dresses to be honest and I think fabric choice is the key to making them look good.

I liked how you showed the patterns. I rather appreciate your opinion on the patterns because you make me think of I feel about the pattern instead of just agreeing. Sort of like open minded.

Those patterns were horrible except B6982. I'm 57 and I just don't reach for Butterick because they seem too old fashioned.
