@@_SunRa_ Tan colored tarp ■ is the best ground plastic I have seen; has an ecstatic contribution to caring and dressing the plants, excellent application.
@@margiechism yeah I haven’t seen to many of the tan lumber tarps around my area. I saved that one for just that -and to match the colour of the squashes hehe 😉 Yeah looks less intrusive the tan colour. :)
Awe yeah I was reading about the cracking. Yeah apparently if they get too much water and or fertilizer at the point when they are starting to harden off, sometimes they may growth spurt causing the skin to crack. They seem to scab over a bit if the cracks aren’t to deep. I haven’t seen cracking like that on other varieties.
Your garden is always full of such inspiration. My family and I live in VT (Zone 5) and have already had a couple of frosts over the last couple weeks. When do you expect your first frost?
Thank you ! Yeah it’s been such a magnificent autumn her. Weather is showing snow and nighttime freezing temps by next weekend, but still a week of good weather her. I’ve got Lots to harvest still :) Is VT Vermont USA ? Did you grow any squash this year ?
Any long vining type will grow wonderfully on a trellis with a little help. In the vid I was growing Avalon, Tiana and Victory which are all hybrid butternut varieties with short maturity days. I do prefer to grow non hybrid varieties when I can find good strains with a relatively short maturity time for my climate. I’m backing off hybrids more this coming year for a few reasons. Gratitude 😊
I share with family and couple friends a bit too, but yeah, usually get through most of it. Juniper my dog likes squash too so it’s the one vegetable I can grow for her to mix in with her meat.
