I've tried this using peaches before and it's delicious too. I really like dump cakes because you can get very creative with them using different fruits and cake mixes! Simple and delicious! 💛 Tfs

I made this for Thanksgiving but I only did 1 stick of butter which helped it not be so runny and I put whipped cream mixed with half a pouch of vanilla pudding on top of mine. I've also made it with sugar free ingredients as well. So yummy.

In the late 70's my dad made a cake just like this except he used 2 cans of fruit cocktail in the bottom of the pan sprinkled the yellow cake mix on top then the pecans then the slices of butter all over the top, bake in 350 preheated oven until done and it was the best dessert ever. I still make it

Been making lemon cake mix w cream cheese scattered over cherry pie filling. Awesome! Also vanilla cake w cherry pie filling w chocolate chips on top. Primo! So easy & just great! I mix cake mix w stick & half butter & place on top in crumbles. Soooooo awesome! By mixing into a cookie dough consistency, it eliminates the dry, sand like consistency.

Yall I have enjoyed your cooking, you cook the way my moma cooks and they way I cook here in Tennessee, I'm 50 n I'm still learning, I have made the honeybun cake 2 times so far ,every one loved it,I made the 10 min peanut brittle n burned it,I think my microwave was too high but il try again, my husband and I just watched this and he can't wait to cook this n serve with some vanilla ice cream, yall have a Merry Christmas and glad you feel better ,God Bless from Tennessee yall,

I make this a lot but I stir my pineapples and pie filling together and it's so good...and I never have sprayed my pan before and haven't had any problem with it sticking but my pan is none stick too. Love your videos !! 💖💖

You guys did a great job switching places. I’m making this for our family dinner Christmas. Very easy little dirty dish, the knife to cut the butter and a spoon to dip the pineapple. I just may use plastic !!!lol.

Oh ok, on the West Coast, we always melt 1C of butter and pour it over the cake mix. Lol of course! Its the most versatile cake. We make Pumpkin Dump Cake for Thanksgiving.

When I make this I use two packages of frozen peaches (no need th thaw) instead of pie filling. I find the canned filling to be expensive and not cover a whole 9x13 pan. Or you can mix one can of filling and one package of frozen fruit. Also delicious with blackberries or blueberries 😊

Great job Chris, I've made this cake over 25yrs but, I add shredded coconut along with the pecans for topping. I have tried all different flavored fruit pie fillings, canned fruit, cake mix and different nuts, you cant go wrong. Yummy

I love that cake. I use the butter cake mix to add just more butter flavor and only 1 stick of butter. It is so good served warm with vanilla ice cream. It is a great dessert and so easy. I love watching yall cook. It is a very easy cake that no one can mess up.

My mom's dump cake only used 1 stick of butter but otherwise is exactly the same. If you reduce the butter it isn't as liquidly on top but still tastes amazing You also can use 2 cans of pie filling instead of pineapple & pie filling. I've tried several different combinations (my favorite is peach/blueberry)

Your dump cake looks wonderful, a dump cake is one of my favorite! I have made this cake for yrs, it is my go to cake when I need a quick dessert! I also put a cup of coconut over the cake mix, then the nuts and top with 1stick of butter, we decided it didn’t need that much butter! Wish I could help y’all eat it! ~~🥰Joyce

Whenever I cook something with a can of cherry pie filling, I always add a drained can of sour cherries in order to have more fruit!

Oh by the way, I’ve seen your skills on the smoker….you smoked a pork loin and Tammy made stewed cabbage, cornbread and for dessert strawberry shortcake! That pork loin was so juicy and tender! Well done Daddy! I wanted to add that some people may use a white cake mix but you should really try the yellow cake mix. There is just something so tasty when you use that butter and the yellow cake mix. Yuuuummmmy!

Love this..first had it back in the 60s/Alabama as a teen. You have such festive music and it feels cheery to watch these holiday videos. Love the idea of using recipes with good food much like I had growing up/holidays. Fun to watch!

I have baked this cake (another name - exact same recipe), and it is absolutely scrumptious and pretty easy as cakes go! You can’t go wrong with cherries, pineapple and pecans! And yes, it uses a lot of butter, but WORTH it! 🥰
