I met Pete when he was Mayor of South Bend, Indiana about 9 years ago. I’m Canadian and was a local politician in my town. We were going to SB for my son’s baseball tournament. I contacted his office and asked if I could meet with him while in town. His office responded and my son and I met with him. I had read about him and admire the fact that he is also a fan of JFK and that he received a Kennedy Centre award. We had a nice visit with him, and he did not make us feel like we were inconveniencing him at all. He was genuinely Interested in us as well. We did not feel rushed. At the end of the visit, he even presented my son with a “key to the city” and a South Bend T-shirt. This man is intelligent, articulate and an overall decent human being. I would love to see him on the Democratic ticket. He is the real deal!

All Democratic politicians are honest and transparent with the public. We should consider amending the Constitution to establish a one-party system led by the Democrats. Our country should provide free education, food assistance, and healthcare, and implement a 32-hour work week. We should encourage unionization in all corporations, limit individual wealth to prevent billionaires, cap CEO salaries without golden parachutes, and ensure free legal representation for all. All firearms should be surrendered, and we should offer financial reparations to Black Americans. Cannabis should be legalized nationwide, and we should embrace LGBTQ+ culture as an integral part of society. Prostitution should be legalized, and the homeless should be treated with dignity and allowed to stay wherever they choose. How quickly he is able to pull resources to get big issues fixed- overpass in Pennsylvania, the bridge the ship ran into- plus the oversight to focus infrastructure into communities which previously were ignored when it comes to infrastructure. 😊. He's done a great job.

I had the opportunity to meet Pete when he was running for Mayor of South Bend. That was more than 10 years ago, so I don't remember exactly what we talked about, but I remember being very impressed by him. It's been a delight to watch his career progress over the years, and I hope I get another opportunity to vote for him!

I am still trying to learn more about Kamala Harris' potential VP picks, but I am leaning towards Pete Buttigieg for three reasons: he participated in the 2020 Democratic Party Presidential Primaries; he has experience working within the Executive Branch as a Cabinet member; and he would not have to give up any Governor or Senator seat in the battleground states.

What I appreciate about Buttigieg is he's willing to go on Fox etc. and actually answer those tough questions. He may gross some people out because he has a husband and adopted children. But gays exist in society and I for one appreciate it when they're willing to get into public service despite all the homophobia.
