He’s not a bad pick, just exposed to price falls at such crazy ownership. If Newcastle batter them GW1 casuals will be selling straight away. So I don’t see any reason to not get an equally good player like Bednarek if you see what I mean 😅

@@Hselym There's a few sources cited in the description but the write up is my own, several hours to write before I'd even hit record! See below: We're spoiled this season as there's been a shift from FPL in how promoted defenders are priced, we've never had so many to choose from that are expected starters, and I've even found some 4m starters for teams already in the premier league too. We're gonna cover all positions so you won't miss a thing if you watch this through to the end. Let's start with the 4m defenders which are a hot topic right now. From Southampton there's two standouts, Harwood-Bellis and Bednarek. Both should be the nailed centre back pairing. Harwood-Bellis started 40 games last season with 2G 3A. Started every match he was available after making his Southampton debut. Bednarek started 39 games last season, scored twice. Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich all fared similarly for expected goals conceded last season, Southampton with 1.15 xGC per 90, Leicester with 1.12, Ipswich with 1.18. Leicester under a new coach though with Maresca at Chelsea now. So at Leicester Faes is the 4m pick. He started 43 games at CB last season, scored 2 goals. Vestegaard was first choice as well, playing 42 times, Coady and Souttar were backups and also 4m. Cooper is Maresca's replacement, which could change the picture as we know he likes to use a back 3 with wingbacks. Okoli (also 4m) was possibly signed for this purpose, or he go with more experienced Coady. In a nutshell Faes the safe bet. Great for 2 points most of the time with the occasional -2. Ipswich are an interesting one with the first 4m fullback. Greaves and Woolfenden were left and right centreback respectively. Greaves is nailed, signed from Hull on a 5 year deal and seemingly replacing Burgess who was used in CB last season. Woolfenden expected to play RCB. Greaves is the best of the bunch, as Woolfenden is very low ceiling, only took six shots last season. I'm sure if there's any Hull fans watching they'll attest to how good Greaves is. However Johnson has joined Ipswich from West Ham and also 4m. Turned down a West Ham contract, presumably would only have made that switch with assurances of game time in right back, so he's the first 4m full back expected to start. One to monitor throughout pre-season, last season Tuanzebe played right back mostly. 14 times in right back, 7 times in centreback. We could see Tuanzebe in RCB, again favouring Greaves. If Johnson is looking nailed in right back then he's got the most upside of all the 4m defenders so far. Let's keep going. A couple of 4m defenders from teams already in the Premier League. 19 year old Barco at Brighton has emerged as a possible option. Estupinan is out for a couple of months injured, September at the earliest. He impressed when he got minutes at the end of last season. Versatile player, at Boca juniors aged just 18 before joining Brighton he played in left mid the most, followed by left wing, centre mid a couple of times too. New coach Hurzeler was fantastic at St Pauli, used a flexible back 3 and 4 formation. They were promoted finishing the season best for: xGC, goals conceded, shots conceded, shots on target conceded and opponent touches in the box. Plus almost 3 shots/game coming from set pieces, also best in the league. This lends weight to Dunk being a possible gem for 4.5m as well by the way, who we know is completely nailed. If you'd like to read up on Brighton's tactics I'll link a really good post below. Lastly Mosquera. One to keep an eye out after Kilman's departure to West Ham. He was on loan at Villareal last season and played well. 2G 1A in 16 leaghue games after joining them in Jan. Started in Wolves first pre-season game, 1 - 0 win over Como where he also impressed. My favourites right now are Harwood-Bellis, Bednarek and Greaves. If Barco or Johnson looks like they'll be reliable starters they move right up the list with slightly more upside for potential attacking returns. You might even get away with having 2 nailed 4m defenders, with 2 solid defenders like Trent and Gvardiol. That way you've got 2 set and forget defenders and it's just that third slot to rotate each week. So we're spoiled with cheap defenders, midfielders not so much. At 4.5m there's only two right now, Winks at Leicester and Luongo at Ipswich. Winks started 45 times last season, scored twice. Luongo is comparable with 43 starts, 2 goals. Bit of a card magnet though, booked 11 times. These are your 2 points per game players and don't ever aim to start these, 2nd or 3rd on the bench type assets in a 3-4-3 or 4-4-2 starting 11. Rogers is one I'm keeping an eye on at 5m. He or Ramsey are likely to start behind Watkins or possibly on the left wing. Emery seems to absolutely love Rogers. He got 2 goals 6 assists in the first half of last season, then Villa signed him and he got 3 goals 1 assists in 11 games. 8 starts in 11 after joining at only 21 years old which is quite a statement. In Villa's first pre-season game he bagged a brace against Walsall before coming off at half time with pretty much the entire starting 11. If you find 0.5m under the sofa he could be worth a go for way way more upside than the likes of Winks. Onto forwards. It's even slimmer pickings but we've got to include Joao Pedro for 5.5m who we've talked about before. Expected to remain on pens, 9 goals 3 asssits last season. If he ends up a regular starter he's 1m too cheap than what he should've been. Cannon from Leicester is 4.5m, started just 3 games last season, was subbed on 10 times, 2 goals 1 assist. Don't expect anything from him but if he sticks around he's only 1% owned. Stewart from Southampton is 4.5m, spent bascially all of last season injured, the season before he was quality for Sunderland in the Championship. 1% owned as well. We've been spoiled with 4.5m defenders as well. These are my favourites. Leave a comment below with which ones you've got. Andersen, Konsa, Burn, Dunk, Mykolenko, Robinson, van de Ven, Ait Nouri A quick overview of these. Andersen has about a 2x better minutes per expected goal involvement than Guehi so he's my preferred option, Mitchell also solid for 4.5m Konsa will be first choice right back ahead of Cash. Their defense fell off towards the end of last season, a huge factor was injuries to Kamara and a few other starters. Burn's nailedness is a question mark but he's got the best opening fixture home to Southampton. Can play left back or centre back, though they've signed Kelly who can play the same positions, plus Hall and Livramento can play left back. Dunk's one of my favourites at 4.5m leaning into the defensive stats mentioned earlier. Mykolenko had a better points per match than the 5m centre backs Tarkowski and Branthwaite. Second best defense last season for clean sheets, home fixture in GW1. Robinson plays left back and has the odd attacking return in him, away to Man Utd in GW1 so not one to start. Van De Ven had a strong debut season, 3 goals in 27 starts. Only 5 clean sheets which was a consequence of Ange's tactics, still worth consideration. As is Ait Nouri for 4.5m who gets the most advanced of all these players. 2 goals 3 assists. For example using Scout's player comparison tool one of the drop downs is average position, Mykolenko on left almost never had an average position in the opponent's half while Ait Nouri did plenty of times. You can look a player's touch heat map, shot heatmap and other useful stats like that to find some gems of your own. Finishing with the keepers. Another Scout tool I always use is the fixture ticker. You can filter by attack and defense so let's go defense, then sort by difficulty. You can remove teams so let's remove all the teams with keepers over 4.5m, will speed this bit up. Wolves are rock bottom so although 4.5m is a great price for Sa he'll be one to scoop up for 4.4m later down the line. Brentford's fixtures are pretty poor as well so Flekken might be one for later. Stating the obvious to some of you but keepers can rack up save points in tough fixture runs and still come out fine. In case you missed it every goal conceded is -4 BPS starting this season which is going to make it significantly harder for keepers to get into bonus points. On top of that shots on target are +2 BPS now, which swings it even more in favour of attackers and away from keepers. We've seen keepers score bonus points plenty of times despite conceding due to the number of saves, but now those shots on target is adding BPS to whoever is shooting on target. Gonna be interesting to see how these changes play out and as always remaining flexible is key. Palace are top of the ticker, though I'm going to avoid a double up so if I have Henderson then no Andersen and vice versa. Chelsea have one of the worst opening fixtures but if we get clarification on who the #1 keeper is Sanchez or Petrovic they could be a steal for 4.5m. Maresca played a very possession oriented system in the Championship which he won't be able to replicate against all prem teams, but in theory should be more solid than Pochettino's defense was. I recommend playing around with the ticker, removing GW8 moves Chelsea all the way to the top as the Liverpool away fixture is excluded. Link below to become a member.

Think he might be a great player this season. He started last season on fire with 6 goals in 6 games before he got that injury that had him out for a bit. But even still, Wood’s goal record shows Forest can create loads of chances.

@@yashsingla3043 I like that team, I think you should get Faes, as he’s pretty decent and will play. But I would say get him and then maybe sell Odoi? I wouldn’t have both Brentford GKs but that isn’t a bad thing. But might it be better if one GK isn’t doing well having a back up who will play is a good idea. Maybe first choice of one of the promoted teams?

Planning 38 game weeks is literally a complete waste of time. Doubles, blanks, injuries, etc etc etc will completely render everything you've done as utterly pointless.
