The truth is, it's way harder to stop an elite passing attack without a elite RB, than it is to stop one with an elite RB. Pat Mahomes, Tom Brady, and Eli never had an Eli RB when they won the championship. They all had elite WR and OL. You can't pay two CB and have elite front 7 in today NFL. The Chef was able to do so last year because of the rookie contract, the draft capital from the Hill trade.

Jones is not the worst NFL QB, but he will never be an elite QB. Furthermore, elite QB's make their receivers look better than they actually are, while Jones never made anyone look better. Barkley was the best offensive player on the team for certain, but he was injured so often and simply was unable to be the running back the Giants desperately needed, a power Running Back able to run over people, make holes when no holes exist. Barkley can make big plays, but for every big run, he has 15 where he loses yardage.

2 things can be right. O line has not been good enough but also that quarterback doesn’t have it. His ceiling has never been high to me. Watching him for the last several seasons I don’t see why they are in love with this kid. Even dating back to college he wasn’t great. The only difference between Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley is Daniel Jones took the offer that was given. He negotiated some yes, but ultimately he took the offer that was given Saquon even after extensive negotiations did not take the offer that was given, which he was free to do. Stop being disingenuous, stop lying to the public . Presenting Jones in the bad way, that kid doesn’t deserve that that’s fucked up. By the way, he got a fair market deal for his production at his position.

So... In case you mutton headed analysts still don't understand what happened...at the end of the 2022 playoff season the Giants had 2 Free Agents that they had to retain.... Daniel Jones, and Saquon Barkley.... The plan was to sign one and franchise the other.... they wanted to sign SB, to a $13 million + /yr deal, and franchise DJ.....BUT... SB didn't like that deal and it forced the Giants to sign DJ, and franchise SB. Now by the time DJ's contract is over, it'll be valued as an average QB salary... for an average QB. DJ's Deal is 4yrs /$160 million, with an out clause after 2 yrs.... so if they wanted to get rid of DJ... they'd be stuck paying him this year anyway..... Now.... is there an available franchise QB, that's obviously better than DJ, who can walk in off the street and play??? um.... I Don't believe there is, and neither do the Giants....
