Buying 100 NES games got me emotional - Nintendo Live Hunt

So this episode is definitely nostalgic for me. To start off during covid (2020) I was playing smash bros on the switch getting wooped by my kids, wanted to go back and play the nes. Found some boxes and opened them up. Let me tell you that golden treasure chest sound byte going off in my head and golden aura over the box pulling out my nes from my childhood was freaking epic and hooking it up. Sadly after that, I realized almost all my collection had been missing or stolen because the boxes were practically empty. I had 4 NES and 5 SNES games with a NES console, SNES, OG XBOX and XBOX 360 console. Told myself wheres my stuff, called my brothers only to find out they had actually been stolen over the years while deployed. From there I went down this rabbit hole, the journey of youtubing and thought what can I do to get back my childhood of retro videogames? So I went on RU-vid and started looking for finding nintendo and came across the NES Pursuit. This drove home for me because not only was this exactly what I was about to do going on the NES Pursuit. But, these were guys Aaron and Ricki, that I could relate to from the 80's babies era collecting from "generation cool". Well here we are... literally two years later and have had my own "come ups, holy grail finds and the thrill of the hunt". In a weird twisted way, if this didn't happen to me getting my stuff taken. This thrill of the hunt, it wouldn't have never happened. For all the people I've met out there in the community and shared moments and brought smiling faces back to retro, I'm glad it happened. I can definitely relate to almost everything you all catch and run on episodes from going back to retro liberty and all the way coming to the pixel game squad. There's just so many talks, episodes, different facets that go into game collecting that struck some heart strings and memories made along this way of the NES pursuit. I greatly appreciate what you all do, like I said definitely nostalgic moments in there, but most importantly getting back to "the good ol' day's of innocence retro gaming". I have enjoyed tremendously making memories with others along the way. Always God bless, keep doing what you're doing. And look forward to future episodes of game hunting.

My question to game collectors is at some point you will have spent tens of thousands of dollars on games and game systems. The question is at what point or if at any point collectors attempt to liquidate their collections. I do not have the financial means or the space for collecting thus emulation is how I enjoy these classic games. This hobby is getting more and more expensive in recent years. I do enjoy your channel as I live retro collecting through your channel. I do appreciate your channel. Is your collection your future retirement?

I remember when you and Ricky would buy games at the swap meet that did not have labels just to see what was on them. But still the Rush N Attack case with the Mario board inside was neat.

You guys are so lucky to have all these places to get retro games. I live in Buffalo, NY and we have ONE game store left (not counting all those god awful Gamestops). There are no such things as swap meets in this area. No flea markets either. Just some thrift stores that never have any decent video games, if at all.

Little different but the other week I saw an ad for 30 PS4 games at $10 each and they were almost all games I want to play, ended up making him an offer on the whole lot for like half of his original price, he countered with $20 more than my offer so I jumped on it, instantly tripled my collection, had a similar feeling to this!

Such a trip, I bought an nes off that guy a couple months ago. Nice dude, we had a good conversation about collecting/video games

I mean, sometimes when you see NES games, you just can’t help yourself. Back in the day Hollywood video near me had a Game crazy store attached to it. They had NES games cheap. I cleaned them out before they went out of business.

i would have to try all those games before handing over that kind of money. 800$ is a LOT of money man..I wish i felt nostalgia about things like this. If i were a kid and going to the store buying? SURE..but just going and plunking down some money for some bags of games?..eh..not sure for me..I just started collecting some Masters Of the Universe figures from the new Revelation show on NetFlix. I thought i would enjoy it and get some joy. BUT not really. The feelings of buying them in the early 80s/mid 80s was a feeling i cant get back..Im super glad your happy though.I just wanted to express my feelings on this one. Stay awesome and I miss seeing all the guys together. Hope we get more shows soon with everyone..

Shipping and fees gonna eat up that 400 quick pc doesn't show which have free shipping which most do. That total price of "1200" more like 800-900.... $40 for Metroid. Ouch.

Be surprised how understanding people are when you say you collect and resell what you don't need. They're more willing to lower the price and glad to see someone who enjoys them get them. Those are the best deals. We both make money and i keep some games for myself and put that cash right back into buying more. Easier to deal with a reseller because they sell it all at once and don't have to put up with scams or returns
