I’ve been to this property! I’ve hiked it’s acres and the land behind it. It’s beautiful! I’m from Arkansas, USA and have visited NZ twice. I know the previous owners of the house and I’m so thrilled to watch as you renovate and make it your own dream home and property! God bless!
You are living your dream. Finding a place where you can set down roots and enjoy the produce of your garden. Flowers, fruits, vegetables, and chickens.
Awesome result. I adore the Wairarapa. I lived there for 4 years when I was ten in an amazing homestead and 30 acres of land. As a city girl moving to the country they were some of the happiest years of my life. Now my partner and I live in a beautiful lifestyle property in Mangaroa Valley recreating that beautiful experience. You've chosen the best country in the world to live. After visiting 70 countries I still love my homeland. Yay you do too!
You and Carrie made the right decision. New Zealand is an excellent country if you prefer fresh, peaceful, and practically without pollution (perhaps only in highly urbanized cities like Wellington and Auckland areas?). You will acquire the land and homestead of your dream. God bless you both.
Really exciting news, congratulations guys! We spent just over four very happy yrs, living in Wgtn, before returning to the UK. The land of the long white cloud is a remarkable and precious place and, as I'm sure you already know, is full of warm, welcoming and incredibly friendly people. (The natural food produce is simply outstanding too!)
Oh how wonderful, welcome to Aotearoa whanau 🥰 its very important to look after our lands and preserve out beautiful nature. Congratulations 🎉❤ i pray for happiness for many years and many generations to come..im sure more footage will come in future and we look forward to seeing all ur guys progress 🥰
Congratulations Alex and Carrie! Isn’t wonderful how the Universe works… all we have to do is step aside. So excited for you two and looking forward to watching the journey with you two. Have an awesome weekend!
Buying a house is an emotional roller coaster. We had 2 failed offers before we found our home last summer but we are SO glad now that those offers didnt work out because we love where we ended up. Happy for you & this exciting part of your journey together!
Hindsights a funny thing isnt it, we also failed our 1st house offer we put in (the bank wouldnt finance us because there was so much wrong with the house - me being a Builder I thought nah no worries the more fkd up it is the cheaper the house will be I'll fix it all up) anyway... we ended up in a far better location, better house better everything ☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻
My partner and our daughter lived in the house from July-February when we transitioned to NZ from the States in 2016. It has a beautiful soul about the place and is coming to you from our good-hearted friends. It was such a magical place to get to know NZ and for our then one-year-old daughter to settle in. There were lots of long walks to the fairy forest in the back of the valley and to the airport at the top of the hill across the road to enjoy the most glorious sunsets. The native tree by the kids maze in the back yard was planted from a seedling for our daughter during our time there. It holds a special place in our hearts as well, and I wish you the best of luck on your new adventure!
Congratulations! We found our dream house last year in Germany and did a lot of renovations. We really appreciate that opportunity to create a unique home for our family!! ✨🏡🔨🌱 Thanks for sharing your adventure!
Danke! You know all about the feelings then. Where in Germany?! I loved my travels through Bavaria and southern Germany. My grandfathers family came from Tauberbischoffshein - hope I spelled that right. I think it’s near the Black Forest. I’d love to go one day.
Honestly can't believe I've been following your journey for 8 months now since you decided to move to our beautiful country. Congratulations on finding your new home! Cannot wait to see what excitement more comes your way
I have been following your journey since you left the US for NZ. This video has absolutely made my week!! After all the ups and downs you guys have been through, not letting the negatives get you down, having faith and trusting the process… it has all finally paid off. Congratulations team!!
Congratulations that's amazing. Great to see its all working out. My wife and I live up in the sunny hawkes bay. New zealand is an amazing country and it's soo cool seeing our country on you tube and other platforms. Amazing
Excellent choice 👌 ! The love you are showing towards New Zealand is so heart felt , the warmth the passion makes New Zealand special . Thank you ! and welcome to your new home in New Zealand .
Thank you Sovita. I’ve always had a special place in my heart for NZ with my dad’s family coming from here and having roots here since the 1860s but it’s great that Carrie has shown such zeal for the kiwi life too!

You bought this place from our son Dale. You have chosen an amazing place. There are some great neighbors there and beautiful things within walking distance.
So excited for you both. Sweet Carrie has the most happy smile and bright eyes. Love watching the excitement in her face. I just love you both. CANT WAIT to see move videos of your new house woohoo.
Hi Guy's came across this video we live in the wairarapa and run a small organic vege business on the side on our lifestyle property in Greytown and are about to move to a larger property in Carterton. Looking forward to seeing how you go and if you want to catchup let us know once covid settles of course. Thanks for sharing Rick
Permaculture enthusiast here! There are a few Permaculture week/weekend courses you can take, one of them here in New Plymouth and some others in the South Island too!

Ah Alex, you said Welcome on back, just like Carrie does, made me smile! I'm so thrilled for you guys, the place looks amazing and I'm looking forward to following along on your big adventure. It's lovely to see you both looking so happy after what I'm sure has been a rollercoaster year so far! Home at last! 🏡
Congratulations. Really happy to see that you finally find your lovely new home ❤. Looking forward to seeing your garden bloom and grown. I love your Travel videos and I'm excited to hear that you planning to do Guides but I have to admit that I really enjoy your content lately as well so keep going 😊. Stay healthy and much love to you three from Germany
Danke Birgit! We appreciate your support. Lots of new content on the way, I’ll strive for a good balance with the videos but lots of the new vibe coming. 🙏🏼
I had a sneaky suspicion that you would end up in the wider Wellington area! Its very much your vibe! Congratulations I cant wait to see what amazing things you do with your home and land
Congrats on the big move y'all 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 Welcome to our Wellington region 😊🙏🏽 I'd also like to thank you for your amazing videos and how you have shown the beauty of Aotearoa. Can't wait to see your journey unfold. 😁💜
Congratulations you guys. It's so nice to see you can now settle and pursue your dream. I'm sure you have access to lots of information here in New Zealand on how to start your Homesteading life, but I thought I'd mention some of the people on RU-vid that I follow in the UK. Charles Dowding is in England and is an expert in no-dig gardening and may give you some ideas of how to get planting veges on your plot from day one. Bealtaine Cottage with Collette O'Neill is in Ireland and a huge supporter of Permaculture and has done amazing things with her piece of land. And finally Liz Zorab - Byther Farm (and her husband) is in Wales and has just taken on a new property after developing their previous one as a "Homestead". Good luck and happy growing.
Welcome to the Wairarapa! I have worked in the Wairarapa for the last 13 years and it is a gorgeous region with many wonderful people - which now include you both! All the best with the move and the renovations :)
Gorgeous and quaint home with room to grow, beautiful acreage with fruit trees, a pond and a stream?! 💯% perfect!!! Can't wait to see more. So happy for the three of you 👩❤️👨🐕
Congrats guys!!! 💕💕💕 I’m so happy for you!! I’ve been feeling very down that there’s still no way for me to go see my partner of one year in NZ because of the border situation there. I’ve been feeling very down about it lately cause we haven’t met. But your videos give me hope and make me happier! So thank you! 💕
Oh coolies! Congrats! on the new move guys! You will be neighbours with James Cameron and hopefully you will get to see some of the amazing Avatar stuff being filmed and made. Have fun and stay safe.
Just imagine in the near future - you make your coffee from your kitchen and carry two outside, one for you and one you made for Carrie. You sit in your porch alongside her and you both look into the field and see happy Lanka running around alongside trees fully blooming with fruit and the crops growing 💚 Congrats guys! Cant wait to see the process :)
