Thanks guys this has helped me with my confusion . I'm about to sell my small property, as I'm not well enouf to look after it any more, and live on the road. I'm 57 semi disabled and single and want to see the red centre and live the dream wile i still can ,good luck with your choice matey's.

Loved the van but found very little attention was paid to position of light/power fittings. The table should have a power point for computer use. day/night blinds are much more attractive and useful than curtains. An outdoor BBQ and shower are more important than the dishwasher. For the money and size I would like to see stabilisers on this van. As a 55year old woman I drove a Winnebago Alpine 24foot for 60,000 kms...not a single problem but sometimes the size made parking in cities, other than caravan parks, quite difficult. Think I will buy the Conquest...nice fittings and easier to sell. Great video, thanks.

Maybe hire one for a short trip with your dogs to get a feel of what you will need.

I retire soon and will be buying the Avida Longreach, 400K but it has everything! A home away from home. We are selling up and hitting the road, tired of the bullshit that comes with living in large centres where people congregate and end up with lockdowns and control, after control. I don't want to be stuck in a house where my electricity is controlled by someone else and my "carbon" footprint measured by how many kw I use a year. With the Longreach I can live off grid indefinitely.

I agree mate and nice motor home which to live your life. I feel the same with the BS that’s happening. Actually, since this video, we bought a caravan and a off-grid camper which is amazing. We are now looking at building a campervan as the models we have seen lately are rushed and rubbish. Enjoy your retirement

Get something that has the most space. trust me. Space is what will piss you off in the medium to long term.... I bought a small one and after the second trip wished I had bought something bigger

I just recently purchased a new Mercedes 24.2 for 168k , that last MoHo for 235k? ...mate ,apart from the slide outs i dont see where the value is. I bought mine from Jayco , and I did have a look at the optimum and mercedes and compared the 2, in the end the merc conquest won .It came down to availability of parts , simplicity of use and maintanance, and the Habitat layout. Price was not a consideration, If I had my LR or HR liscence ,which I hope to get, Id have bought a mercedes Adventure truck . I spose each to their own, but ask yourself, how long will i have it,how often will i use it, where can i store it out of the elements when im not using it , income and savings, and price .If it ticks all your boxes then buy and enjoy.thats all i got.

Don’t buy anything too big. We bought one which was too big. If you are going to live in it fine but for weekends and couple of weeks away buy one you can park anywhere way more fun 🤩

If you haven’t bought your new toy yet, check out Roberts Avida and get another view on a different brand. Don’t look at the shiny surfaces, I found what makes a MH are things you can’t see. What type of tripping are you going to do. If it’s free camping what type / qty of solar etc, how much water, size of gas bottles. Manufactures build to a price and they save money on the things you can’t see . Eventually the right MH will jump out at you.

Just be careful buying a front wheel drive van because all your weight is on the back and you can get stuck in ditches have a look at the Mercedes At least they are rear wheel drive

You can buy an RV have the fun travelling for a year or 2 then sell and probably still make a profit. Motor homes are in high demand. There is a wait list for 12 months for new !
@Wog68
@Wog68 2 года назад
@@marcusbarnes5929 automobile in whatever form has a diminishing value. To make a profit is rare for consumers. For wealthy businesses, rich business person and trust babies it’s not a problem to have RV, but do they buy often? No, they always get it on lease, so that they get claim on tax returns.
@marcusbarnes5929
@marcusbarnes5929 2 года назад
@@Wog68 100% crazy not to claim as a business expense. Leasing or buying.. At the moment depreciation is very minimal and some people selling theirs motor homes for more than the purchase price. Prices are going up and up as high demand.
@Wog68
@Wog68 2 года назад
@@marcusbarnes5929 RV, Caravan, Motorhomes have demising value regardless. In a pandemic, where there is a risk of employment (and re-employment), increased inflation and risk of infection, zero interest rates and risk of consistent investment income, cash on hand is important. There are better ways (and cheaper ways) to stay away from exposure to infection the RVing. Perhaps only business would buy or sell it at inflated price for convenient tax manipulation or foolish individual who would burn 90 grands out of pocket.
