Buying a Jeep Wrangler TJ LJ from an insurance auction!

Really this video applies to most online purchases, but I am taking you through the insurance auction to show you how part of that process works.
If this something you'd like to get into, be sure to go through this checklist:
1. Watch my "Where to find rust on a Jeep Wrangler TJ LJ" video
2. Check Carfax
3. If possible/applicable, have the vehicle checked out. I believe there are even brokers that you can hire to have vehicles inspected.
4. Look through every picture in detail! If applicable, ask for more pictures!
5. Listen to the vehicle run. If applicable, ask for a video of the vehicle running!
6. Research the seller (if applicable)
At the end of the day it's still a gamble, just do your homework ahead of time to attempt to mitigate a negative situation!

Missourian here.... though I live on the other side of the state from Kansas City (closer to St. Louis) we are definitely in the rust belt. I've seen plenty of rusted out TJ frames around here, but every once in a while, I will see good ones as well. My 98 has a mint frame under it, but I don't drive it in the winter, and it stays in the garage most of the time. Good luck on your purchase, I'm looking forward to seeing it on your channel. 😊

@@ElevatedJeeps I'm hoping that it proves me wrong and that it's just a little crusty or better! Maybe there's enough mud inside the frame to keep the salt from the witer roads from penetrating the metal? I am keeping high hopes for you! Good luck 😀!

@@timg0222 Thanks Tim! Well I did find out this thing started its life in Hawaii for a couple years, then was in Arkansas until 2015. Since 2015 it's been in St. Joseph MO. Salt water.... Ugh. Well, definitely fingers crossed!

Just over 6k. Which sounds cheap, but by the time you add tax, fees, and shipping I am just under 9k to my door. If its spotless, that's a score. If the frame is shot, well that won't be ideal.
