I used to love standing behind the desk at skate shops and basically working for free. Nothing was better than getting the younger generations their first boards and helping them get gripped and setup. As a skater i always wanted to share the love, lessons and thrills I got from skating with others. One love from the 904

I did this for a young man at a skate shop I always go to every couple years (I live far away). He was there renting a Skateboard to go skate for the day. He was literally counting all his pennies and dimes to rent it. Telling the ship owner how excited he was to go ride with his friends on a "Real Board". He had a Paper Route and he was telling the shop owner how he was using his money to help his Mom get groceries and pay rent... a legit little Gentleman, probably 11 or 12 years old. The Shop owner told him he could rent it for a Week for free, the kid was almost in tears. Super Thankful and asked the shop owner if he could cut his grass for him or clean up around the shop if needed. I was so impressed with this little guy I told him to pick his setup and I'll pay for it... even knowing this board was free, he was still picking out the "Cheapest" setup, so respectful. I told him pick out what you really want. By the time the kid had his Deck put together he was almost crying and so excited he was vibrating. Fast forward 10 years, I went back to the Shop (I don't live near it) the kid was working there, pretty much running the place. He recognized me right away, I didn't recognize him at first. He had HIS OWN Skateboard Rental setup, donating to the kids that can't afford a board. He helps build Skate Parks, Gives free lessons at his local Park and pretty much runs the shop now. I know this was a long post, but I did what I did because I wanted to see a young man (Who deserved it 10 fold) have a great day with his friends. It projected into a Career and a Hobby for this guy. It's amazing how something so small to me was something so big to that kid. Either way, keep pushing, Skate or Die 🤟
