Seriously dude? Quite the buyers guide and complete breakdown of issues to look for. #1 on the list, radio antenna. #2 rear wiper fluid tube leak. #3. Engine cylinder liner treatment that you won't know about until the engine is ruined. Gee, thanks for the guide that touches on exactly ZERO real things to look for when purchasing a used Cayenne.
It really doesn't cost that much "premium money" to keep it running. There's nothing fancy or complicated about the fluids required, change intervals, and anything else considered "basic" maintenance to include tires. The brakes that came on my 08 Turbo are massive and take a long time to wear all the way down unless you're driving it hard. The tires aren't any more expensive on this platform than anything else really. I guess you could make an argument for the 21" wheels but there's tons of cars and trucks out there that cost the same or maybe even more for a set of 4 new tires. These vehicles are seriously underrated and were even cheaper than they are now pre-stupid-covid. They're built like tanks and if well taken care of can probably last well over 200k easily. Especially for the 07+ models.
@@Wandji18 well like this video said from 2003 to 2012 is quite a big range for these models. I have a 2011 and I love it. Been the best vehicle I've ever had, even with nearly 120k miles. I almost got a 2004 or 2006 I forget and that had a lot of problems
955 1st Gen Turbo - Wire harnesses to the headlights, big headache. Horns are another common problem as they get wet and stop working. You have to remove the entire front 'bumper' panel to replace. In addition to the other previously mentioned problems, these two in particular are as preventable as the plastic coolant pipes should have been. Now you know why resale value nose dives. It's a lot of car for the money, but I'll stick with Mercedes.
Ok, but I see other videos they say thermostat need change about run 65.000 miles, the battery too. And much other need be change when cayenne has run 100.000 miles...brake etc., can be expensive
thanks for the review, planning on buying (maybe) a 2005 cayenne S with 48k Miles. I thought the gearbox was a problem but what else shall i look for?, also is there a suspension setting for these? in some pictures it seems very tall for city and speed
4.5 have had owned a 2003 4.5S for many years and have had no issues whatsoever. The smaller 6cyl models are very underpowered amd heavy on fuel in comparison.
I personally wouldn't buy one of these I think they Lexus rx is a much better vehicle I bought one new back in 2009 it's got almost 360000 miles on it I truly believe it will do 500000 mile a the only problem is will I last that long hoho
me think to buy a used cayenne with 40,000 miles because of cheap price... coated aluminum bore?... me NO thanks... let them go to the junk yard ... i'll stick to my chevy's that i get 400,000 miles on the v-8's...
Not really. If you look at videos or in forums on every car they always have problems. Because people love to talk about the bad things, and not the good. I bought a Merc that supposedly is rusting like crazy. Mine is not staying in a garage. Daily driven, has over 230.000km. Also it is 19years old. Never had any bodywork done to it, except for new front bumper, fenders and skirts (just to make it look like shit) Still only got small rust spots from rocks kicking up on the hood and a few around the door. (Driving on salted tarmac every winter and I'm living close to the ocean)
why are you watching it then?... he has an accent, so what?!! probably you came from a very small world a very small environment with no interest what's so ever. if you had a decent job, a job that allows you to travel and deal with other race, you would have more mature reaction than saying "silly accent". The only one silly here is the one with a small brain, guess who? I'm dying to hear you trying talking another language... please go get yourself a proper education
Light Surfer you comment on every single Cayenne video. It’s always something super negative. Why watch so many of these videos if you hate the car so much?
