In this video I buy some avocado trees online! I discuss what to consider when buying avocado trees online, what to do when they arrive, how to transplant them, and under what conditions to keep them.
I've been keen to have a very small orchard on my balcony garden, and some grafted avocado trees are going to be the perfect addition!

My 10 yr old seedling still has no fruit , ha . I also bought a grafted bacon , last year . Still waiting on fruit :)

Hi Scott! We have an avocadotree which is now about 4 years old. But it's one long stem still with a bunch of branches on top. Every year I cut the branches in order to make branches come out lower on the stem, to make the plant more full and tree-like. This works in the beginning as small buds start to form quickly. But there is always one branch who sprints to the sunlight and grows very very fast, which makes the buds die, because all the energy goes to the big branch and so we end up every year with the same problem. Can I just cut the new branch in order to force more buds to come out? Or is that too stressfull for the plant? Any tips? Thank you very much.

Hello, just found your channel and am loving the videos. I have an important question, I have a avocado seed that has been in the water for a few weeks but I just dropped it by accident and have split it in two 😢. I feel really bad and was wondering what I should do now? Do I just tie them together and put them in the soil or do the same that you did with the embryo part suspended in the water? Hope you see this. And please reply

Hi, same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I taped the seed and continue germination in water. It is looking good. Best luck. Amazing channel Scott.. 😊

I was thinking about growing wurtz due to limited space and wanted to keep them in a 20-25 gal container. My question is, how do I cross pollinate if they are type A? Do I need a completely different variety thats type B or will two wurtz trees pollinate each other?

I can share my adventures of online cheap shopping to east-northern Europe - Latvia :D I have attempted to buy few thing from internet regarding avocados. First they were grafts, but most of them didn't survive the long shipping to my country! Those who looked like they did - didn't survive grafting process, I think it means the 1+ month shipping is too long. Then I found on Spanish ebay some little grafted avocados, but they never actually sent anything. (I could try grafts from Spain maybe?) I don't want to buy actual trees from anywhere but Europe, it's just not worth it - the shipping time, risk, cost. The tree would be indoors for most of the time anyway. Maybe it means I need to go to the south of Spain myself on vacation and get one :D The thought of this is - its very hard to get things like this on a budget. If I had spare few hundred laying around, sure, all is possible with money, but I don't want to spend much, because I don't even know if the tree will like living in a pot mostly indoors. Which I think it will not. So first I will see if I can keep alive and well some avocados from seed. Gardening is an expensive hobby :D
