My question is: Can I get a plane ticket for JFK to MSY at the JFK airport itself by paying there in dollars or Do I have to pre- book it while in Nepal?
Very unlikely. Even if you get it at the airport, chances are you’ll have to purchase one online at a higher price. My advice would be to book the flight directly from TIA to MSY as that would ensure a smooth transfer of your luggage as well. The only downside to this would be sometimes it would be expensive, but if you have someone who can book it for you online, you can go that route.
