Lydia Dinga aka Mrs O, just when I think I've seen the best from you, you come with another one. No words to describe this, pure perfection. Damini is a gem, intelligent, his genuine heart and love for you is palpable. Your Dinga's compound is absolutely stunning, the thatched houses are so beautiful. I can't wait to visit Kenya, one of the few African countries that I haven't visited. Africa doesn't need skyscrappers, nature at its best.
I was born in Kisumu too but grew up in the UK- this makes me miss dala 🫰🏾🫰🏾 Lovely seeing the Luo homestead (Simba- the first son’s house)👏 - really well done Lydia- content is real and super quality. Editing didn’t miss at all 👏👏 - I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Beautiful throughout 👏🫰🏾👏
I really love how Mr. O phrased what dowry is about. "It's not buying your wife but it's investing and continuing to invest into where your wife comes from." Well done Mr. O
Our generation is one that will have the most intercultural, international , interracial marriages and this video made it easy to explain and show to our future partners what we do and what Dowry is. loved it can’t wait for the full Nyombo video.❤❤
Wow wow wow wow!!! This vlog needs to win ‘Best vlog of the Year award’. The quality, the editing, the music, the sound! Everything!!!! Well done Lydia, this was such a heartfelt beautiful vlog.
The compound is beautiful. Generational wealth at its finest ❤ The details the music the breakdown the walk throughs makes you feel like you’re there. This vlog is amazing❤
This is so so similar to South African Zulu weddings. We call it Umabo and the dowry is called Lobola. But exactly the same. Your parents are amazing and put so much work into this, what a blessing
This isn’t a vlog, this is a documentary on wedding preparations in Kenya. 😮 ❤ Lydia this documentary said 4+4 and 6+2, this ATE!!! Best bit...ALL OF IT.
I just love how you’ve portrayed life back home as someone from the diaspora. Especially as you explained the reasoning behind each custom. This is so heartwarming
My man thought the intro was a music video 😅 and I was like no babe Lydia always serves traveling vlogs, editing be insane!! Everything is giving cinematic vibes! 😍🔥🔥
I have waited with bated breath for this video. As a Kenya luo girl ( Nyar Kano) who also lives Europe and married outside my culture , I relate completely. Nyasaye ogwedhu nyamin. Mos na jo dala. This video is all that and more
Gotta say I love the whole vibe and style of Damini when he went to market. Giving celebrity. Thanks for all the effort filming during a stressful time.
your parents compound is stunning. it's so beautiful to me how the architecture, design, and overall style in this video reminds me of my family's home in Jamaica. we may have been separated but the culture remains.
I think as I get older the more I appreciate our traditions and cultures and realise the importance of them. Thank you for sharing, everything looks beautiful so far ☺️
You're truly talented and blessed.Cinematography✅️Story telling✅️This here....premium content. Totally worth the wait. May your immediate and extended family continue to prosper.Cheers to the O's!
Lydia, thank you for sharing your traditions with us, particularly around marriage while balancing modernity. While I certainly speak for myself, I am sure others feel equally the same way. As descendants of slaves within the diaspora (Trinidad and Tobago/USA), it's very comforting to know how enriching our history is, and that all has not been lost colonization and time. I commend you and your husband for embracing your respective heritage and preserving those traditions. You did an amazing job with the editing.
Ahhhh I thought coming home after work with my iced coffee to take off my wig was going to be the best thing ever and then I see this upload. Thank you girl, you just made my Sunday!!!
I am a silent subscriber, but had to drop a comment on this one . Loved how you displayed your culture whilst educating . As a jamaican so many inages of Kenya reminded me of Jamaica. Big up to Mr Dinga the compound is amazing love seeing people building up where they originate from. Can not wait for the next upload.

This is so beautiful…it’s always an experience learning about different cultures, and your husband was so succinct with his explanation of what a dowry means!
This was incredible!! Dowry payment custom always made feel a bit uneasy because I saw it as “buying” the bride but the way Damini explained it makes a lot of sense
Lydia!! ❤The quality of this Vlog is 100/10. Girl the drone footage…just wow. Thank you for sharing this part of your journey with us. From the culture, the food, the dowry, all the time and effort put into this one was absolutely worth it. I’m so excited to watch the rest 😊
