Thanks so much,we are only trying our best, we don't make that much money but it's a great way of life. Keep all the comments coming, there helping the channel bigtine😊👍👍
Ya I love it. I suppose there is a lot of farmers who have children who don't have an Interest, it must be tough on them. All the hard work for nothing
Cheer paddy. There progress the best lambs that ever set foot on this farm😂. Just hope there lucky. Cheers for the comment, keep them coming it helps grow the channel.👍👍
Hi Glyn, thanks for the great video. That one Ram with the big horns looked mad and dangerous. Your friend was brave to corner and grab it by it's horns. Glad that you showed the 40 Yo lambs they sure had a beautiful Golden hue fleece. It was a nice bonus that they delivered the Yo's as there were quite a few of them. You sure get a fair amount of rainfall it seems like it rains often.
Ya it's raining all summer, so sick of it. We got no summer, how is the weather where you are. Ya very happy with the lambs, Cheers for the comment, keep them coming it helps grow the channel.👍👍
@@sheepshepherd The weather has been pretty hot and dryer here in Northwest Indiana USA. The last couple days we had 100 F heat with above 100 heat index.
Your auld man is as tough as nails must be where you get it from… delighted you got a few lambs from Mayo and hopefully you’ll be back next year.. they’ll thrive below boi
Hi Adrian, thanks for the comment, helps the channel big time. Ya I'm delighted with them, well one thing is for sure. They will be looked well after here anyway. Hopefully they will be lucky
ive bought expensive great lambs in Ballinrobe before. some take awhile to climatise to a new farm. its really hard to beat your own breeding though, buy the best rams you can. you have an ideal farm for lanark ewes. how old were the blue rams?
They'll be well looked after here that's for sure, The blues were 3 year old and a 4, the lambs in the video are off them. Exactly the lanark will suit us well. Cheers for the comment, keep them coming it helps grow the channel.👍👍
Ya they would be more of a terminal breed but they bring the maternal from the ewe i breed them with, there is lots of farms all over the UK and Ireland that will only go with mules now. They scan well and are super mothers with lots of milk. I have a lot of cheviot already and scotch but they tend to have only one lamb thats why
I'll breed the ones that will hit 50 kgs tbh. It won't really if they are looked after. And we will look after them well so just hope we are lucky with them. As everyone knows sheep can be unlucky at times
Absolutely brilliant! What a superb video... What an insight. Buying rams and lambs. This is fantastic. And an insight into Ireland's sheep farming community. Your friends are fantastic and very supportive. Excellent! Thank you. And you all working as hard as ever! Inspiring!
Cheers Keith and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Ya I have great friends and family around me and it makes it alot easier I tell ya. You need all the help you can Get with sheep . Cheers for the comment, keep them coming it helps grow the channel.
well never seen ewe lambs sold with a weigh ticket before over here (borders ) you have to use your own judgement . nice lambs though and you cannot beat a bit of fire in a Lanark tip 🤣 hope they all do well for you .
147 average, delivery is 3 euro anywhere in Ireland. Its a might service, no point bringing the trailer. Cheers for the Comment. Are you a a sheep farmer?
@@sheepshepherd That's a great service, you'd be out way more on diesel not to mention your time. Yes I keep a few alright, there's subtitles/captions that come up on your videos, is there any way to get rid of them? tried removing them in the settings but the captions are still there, That was big money for lambs you have along wait for a return from them, it's all a gamble though. Great channel, good luck with it.
@@sheepshepherd; is that a help to you Glyn ??. I can leave a few of them on every video of you want ??. I'm not sure how this type of stuff works but I want to help you if I can ??.
Well done men ,you wont regret the money spent, great milky mothers , we find they work well with a texel and even the ewe lambs from these make great replacements.
Cheers Emmet. Ya delighted with them, I hope they are lucky. Have you any yourself. Cheers for the comment, keep them coming it helps grow the channel.👍👍
Aye we buy in mule year olds and put them to a texel then keep the ewe lambs as replacements and put these to the beltex. The maternal instincts come through well on that second crossing .mules are very popular here in derry and are gaining great support in Donegal .more lambs ,great mothers and more room in them for easy lambing.
That's good to hear and thanks for that helpful information. We will look into it,Ya there is not many mules down here, allsuffolk and cheviot really. Hopefully they will Be lucky 👍👍
God bless your dad who should be putting his feet up, but because hard work is all he knows he keeps going & I don’t blame him , there is only so much day time tv you can watch before you start going mad , thank you for another video 😊
Your dad is quite confused about global warming basically he's saying that don't spread fertiliser but don't spread as MUCH fertiliser and don't spread as MUCH weedkiller 😊😊🖼
Don't know how much rain you get but blue's especially older lean rams with no wool cover hate the rain and just stand with a hunched back , you need to feed them hard to get some condition on them then maybe do what some mule breeders do which is put 1 ram out for 2wks then bring him inside and feed him well and put the second ram out for 2 wks , the shearling you already have should stand the rain a bit better
Ya we have plenty ram power here on the farm, that's exactly what we do with our rams. We tag another ram in and give the other lad a break. It works well. But thanks great info there 👍👍
you are so incredibly good looking and that man you bought the mules off!! Love to hug and cuddle you both in green pvc coated shiny smooth plastic flexothane waterproof trousers xxxxxx
never owned any , my friend has loads of sheep and i help him doing jobs weighing lambs and at lambing . Eaten a lot of lambs in my life. HARD TO BEAT A NICE LAMB OFF THE MOUNTAIN@@sheepshepherd
Cheers.a crossing type of ram with bits of black on his face, and this will bring out nicer speckle head in lambs where the traditional ram is a bluer face and brings a lot plainer head
@williamwood816 that's amazing. They left during the famine, you're as irish as myself, great to hear from you. Thanks for always commenting. Really enjoy you're take on thing's
Different breeds works in some places and not in others, they'll be well looked after here anyway. Time will tell😅👍👍 what kinda ewes do you keep and what rams do you put with them
I have scotch ewes mostly some scotch swale crosses and a few Lynn's and I'm sticking with them for the moment but it's interesting to expirment I'm in inch
Why are the sheep yellow , i'm presuming they are dyed? Or is a lice treatment? Australian, we dont dye sheep for sales , i was wondering the reason Thanks
Ya it's a dye . We don't usually do this , its only for special show and sales, where in Australia are u. I loved their for 5 years in Sydney. Thanks for the comment. Keep them coming 👍
@@sheepshepherd , i live in Linton ,Victoria, about 30 ish minutes from Ballarat ,we live and work on a Angus cattle farm , but before the Angus the owners farmed Merino sheep , we personally have Doper sheep we use them for meat and fire protection, they will do well pushed hard to clean up paddocks before the summer fire season ..
Y s, the curled horned tams were healthy and would produce many a healthy mules in the future. New stock is always important…. New life to a farm makes it grow.
Hey there. Great to hear from ohio. Ya we cut the lambs tails. Maybe the odd one we might miss. Is this what you mean We put a ring on their tail when they are a week old
Yes I guess we just cut them really short here! You all do a great job with your sheep! My heritage comes from Ireland and Scotland, I love watching the sheep farms! I really enjoy your videos !I spin wool when time allows!
