My neighbour was Yamaha tech worked alot on the R1. He said break it in hard, ride the bike properly from mile 0. Keep it below 12k for first 600, never just sit there at a low or steady rpm try to be either accelerating or off throttle. Worst of all dont let motor bog. I followed that advice all way through and it was definitely a very strong motor compared to most YT pull vids I've seen
@@henryscreations no manufacturer suggest a hard break in. One main reason is a liability standpoint. Rider won't kill themselves considering the tires are new as well as no hard riding means less likely to need warranty work.
Don't suggest doing what this guy did, break-in is important an beating on the bike doing pulls wasn't the only thing.. sitting in a high gear low & same RPM is another no no. This goes how fast first gear lulz? go through the gears not sit at low or same RPM for too long and engine brake the bike. Also say to not go too far over 9k for first 600 miles an that ain much 😵. That display is beautiful! Almost went R1.. jus picked up my 2018 CBR1000RR it agreed more with my hands an health where its at currently wish we could race 🏁
