Guys .. we did buy skittles tons of toys and he was mostly flying around in the house than in his cage I have a few more videos with skittle in my channel ( wish I would have made more videos with him) unfortunately skittles is not with us anymore and we will be getting a new budgie soon and tell you more about what happened to skittles. You are terrible. Do not buy birds from pet shops. Have you done any research whatsoever? Your first bird is already “not with you any longer.” Be responsible and show your kids that animals lives matter. Come on.
You can buy birds from trusted pet shops but yes, do more research before buying a budgie Not to mention there were almost no sources of entertainment for Skittles
"skittles is not with us anymore" that's what you get for putting the poor creature in a tiny cage with an all seed diet and no natural wood perches lol
I don’t recommend feeding them seeds everyday, mine got sick because I fed her that everyday..make sure you have a variety of fruits and veggies!(: I recommend getting “Harrison’s” pellets!(: there great for budgies!(:
@@splatz3736 you can afford a bird and do something else to keep it in I have a budgie and it doesn't live in a bird cage It live in a very large chicken crate It has to,food,water lots of perches and a swing and a ladder They don't necessarily need a bird cage
Budgies are meant to be in flocks so it's always advisable to buy a pair rather than buying a single bird because being alone will make them stressed out so better get him a companion 😊
I know what you mean but unfortunately the neighborhood cat got in my house and got a hold of skittles when he was outside of his cage and he died, my son wants a new one after months of that happening. we might get a new one soon with a little companion :) .

Yes but it is better to get one at a time, unless they are already bonded. This way you can focus on one and get used to this before you dive in and get a pair. It’s always best to start with one, make sure this pet is right, then get another.
I have the same bird!! And he is so cute it takes patience to get them on ur finger if they are scared but i got him on my finger in like a week!🤗 I recommend buying millet for when they do something good
When adopting a bird always consider buying the largest cage you can afford. Buy and set up the cage before you bring your pet bird home so the bird is not stuck in the box carrier for so long. It's better to have at least 2 birds so the bird has a friend...Congratulations on your new pet... I have 9 budgies in open cages so they can fly around.
I have a budgie and a parrotlet. People are surprised that they get along. Just make sure you don't use teflon cookware, no avocado, no perfume, no deodorant airspray, no incense. Also use a curtain on your window. You don't want your bird to slam into the window. One guy, his bird flew into the window and now is half paralyzed.
I have 2 parakeets gawd damn I have a green and white one and soon gonna get 4 birds help just be careful some are very aggressive like one I have almost bit my brother and he is sensitive (well she bit me a lot of times) BUT NICE PETS! I recommend also not grabbing them a lot or letting them out cuz they can die and make sure to buy a lot of toys they get very bored honestly also sorry.. they poop ALOT when you grab them or sm That’s just some! if I’m wrong tell me I’ve only had 2 for like 4 months tho do research b4 getting one! Btw don’t be scared if you just see them standing still without blinking in the night or day! They’re prob sleeping!
Thats a beautiful budgie! And I love the name Skittles! Let me give you tips 😀I recommend giving the budgie a pellet diet, like Harrisons bird pellets from Amazon. You cant give a Budgie an all millet diet (it could make them obese and they could get liver disease), instead give them millet when training You could also get a bigger cage like a flight cage so you could put more perches, foraging toys, and destroyable toys (Budgies can be very messy) When you get perches DONT get them dowel perches because they can cause the bird to get Arthritis because their feet are going to be in the same position, instead get them natural wood perches. for food bowls, get them 3 stainless steel bowls, one for dry food like pellets, one for wet food like fruits, veggies, chop, etc, and the other for water. Keep doing your research to make sure your parrot is happy and healthy! I got most of my info from a channel called "ElleAndTheBirds", she has great content and knows how to take care of them! You could also look at other channels too if you would like! You can also get play trees or play stands, they arent needed but its something the budgie would love! Im not saying anything mean, Im just making sure others dont do anything wrong :) I myself dont have everything a Budgie should have because of money, plus its hard to convince my parents to get the right things for my bird. I know you might not be able to get some of these things because of money issues, but when you can afford it, thats when you should get things that you would need. Budgies can also be scared of literally anything new, which is normal. If you want switch out toys every once in awhile so your bird has more to explore. Dont get anything with sand because it can irritate and even cut their feet. And dont always follow what pet store employees say, they are most likely told what to recommend and they probably havent even owned a bird nor done research and could be wrong. If you get the Harrison's bird food, get the bag with orange on the front of the bag. the title will say High Potency Fine, because Budgies are small they'll need the small pellets. And dont put a cat or a dog in the room with the bird because catching it is their natural instinct and could very well kill the parrot :(

So I recently got my auntie’s paired parakeets, 1 year ago or less they were hand tamed and Very well tamed by her friend but her friend then didnt want it so gave it to my auntie, but my auntie did not take it out of the cage until 1 year later right now i claimed it from her so im trying to tame it. And 2nd thing should i change the cage to a big rectangle, tall shape cage? Right now its a big circle cage. Haha hope u reply anyways thank u!
You can get a bigger cage from amazon for the same price lol but nice video! I subscribed but you should get some natural perches only dowel perches are really bad and they can get problems with there feet. One dowel perch is okay if you have other perches and you can also carve the dowels and make them bumpy if you dont want to throw them away.

I have a conure and she is so much fun 🤩 the cage is small though but if you guys got a larger one that’s great! :D also get her/him MANY TOYS so that she or he can play with them or destroy them because that’s what they love to do :) so 2 more things if you can give him/her some veggies that would be wonderful and also the perches should be different sizes and textures 😄 your bird is so cute!!!
also don't use air fryer. It will kill the bird. No chocolate, no tomato or apple seeds. Learn as much as possible about birds when you raise them. I always take my birds to the bird store and have their beaks and toe nails trimmed and learn from the store owner. Don't use certain wiremesh because they can be toxic. Use only stainless steel wire mesh.
Here are some tips for you Cage size that you have is not too bad if it’s just a sleeping cage but you still need atoeast 2 or 3 toys to help him if your not home Diet wise is pretty good as long as he get vegetables everyday and and fruit or an apple slice 3 times a week You doing great just handtame it so it doesn’t get depressed

wrong, seeds cause fatty liver disease and can half a birds lifespan. I feed 50% Zupreem Natural pellets, 35% vegetables, 10% fruits, and 5% nuts. @@Poopymonkey571

Hahaha, yeah, they can be a bit loud in the morning.. That's why I put a small blanket on top of their cage at night so they won't start singing really loud in the morning.
no! this is not good! look im sorry ok? but this cage is so small, this bird was not taking care of with her cage . do reaserch before getting a bird cmon people.
Pls do some actually research before you just get a pet to small of a cage don't just feed seeds its not healthy and they should only be out of the cage while being supervised by an adult
