Great video, I've been using vintage lenses for photography for years, and recently ive been using vintage lenses for video, theres so much out there to experiment with, loving the journey of trying different lenses out , thanks again for the video
This was the exactly video I was looking for. I don't think there are many videos out there explaining the process of collecting old Zeiss lenses. It would be super cool if you could share how you use each of the focal lengths practically. Maybe a side by side comparison of your experience with the Contax vs the Jenas. So far all the info I've been getting about these lenses are old forums. A refreshed video format would be amazing to hear from you. Glad the algorithm recommended you! *new sub* Also I'm in central Cali. Cool to see Bakersfield stuff lol
Hell yeah Ill try and make comparison style video to show the effects of the lenses. 🙌🏻 Hell yeah! Im out there a couple times a year to shoot some music videos 🤝🏻
They have a characteristic of edge distortion, not over the top though. It's minimal but good enough. When looking at various lenses I look for fun creative flares, edge distortion, sharpness, contrast. That's what I would look at to pick a lens.
It is definitely rehoused with a new body, I have both a cinemoded and rehoused with EF mount, the filter thread extension yes that part of a cinema but the body of the lens is new. Yes, it is true anamorphic with an oval back end glass element :) The seller from eBay actually rehouses Jenas and Contax lenses in Europe. You learn something new every day. Cheers
@@redbeardproductions-kevind9806 I like you, yeah I guess youre right in that. It doesnt Its the faux anamorphic element. Also has a blue line across the bal element. I mean theres no way someone can think that this is true anamorphic, true vintage anamorphic is pure gold pricing.
Holy fuck are you butchering the name Jena, it took atleast 3 individual sentences with the name in them to make me understand what you were talking about. Kept thinking you were talking about some Zeiss lense lineup I didnt know about. Jena is the city where the factory was located as far as I know
