un livre et un film magnifique à voir et à revoir toujours avec autant de plaisir. Je le revoie souvent avec plaisir, les acteurs sont excellents et le décor grandiose

While it was a poor country and under developed, it was by no means cut off from the world, or entirely in the dark or as you put it "épargné par la modernité". And it was one of the most peaceful places on earth. No mafia, no gangs, no war, hardly any violent crimes.
L'Afghanistan avant l'invasion russe ! Le dernier pays épargné par la modernité. C'était fascinant, cruel, violent, contemplatif, intense, mystique... Un paradis perdu !
Le texte de Kessel est d'une force et une beauté à couper le souffle ! Son adaptation à l'écran a su sauvegarder cette grandeur sauvage... L'Afghanistan mythique a disparu , emporté , comme tant de cultures , par la modernité. Reste ce texte et ce film qui nous parlent du monde d'avant , pas formaté, riche de ses cultures ancestrales...
