I’d like to ask him about his comments on Conan twenty plus years ago, when he said the footage was animation that they didn’t have a video camera on the moon.
@yassassin6425
@yassassin6425 Год назад
Why does this even need explaining? O'Brien claimed to have watched *_the landing_* live. Aldrin was being his typical facetious and pedantic self pointing out that no one watched the landing live as there was obviously no camera on the lunar surface to capture it which is why TV networks/stations used animation to supplement for it. The landing was filmed from the interior of the LM via a 16mm data camera, but this was not broadcast live at the time.
@rockethead7
@rockethead7 Год назад
It's already been answered, but, I'll add: Conan said that his family watched the landing live on TV. Aldrin correctly said that Conan was wrong, because there was no live TV camera during the landing. They only had a 16mm DAC film camera facing out the window for the landing. This means that you can't watch live, because you need to wait until the film gets home to get developed before anybody can see it. So, what did the broadcasters do? They played the live audio, but, for video, they created landing animations ahead of time. Go watch a few of them. They're right here on RU-vid. They are cartoonish animations of the landing sequence, which they played during the landings. The live TV camera wasn't set up until after they landed.

*We all are Begging to know! just HOW they made it through the Van Allen Radiation Belt in 1969!* 🧐 *inside a tin can! with less technology than a common ordinary everyday cell phone?* 😂
@yassassin6425
@yassassin6425 Год назад
If you are genuinely begging to know, then don't seek your answers in junk conspiracy theory. Well first of all, they didn't go inside a 'tin can'. Saying that, alpha particle radiation can be blocked using a piece of paper. Secondly, they are belts - since there are two, with a third that is transitory. The belts consist of diffuse toroidal volumes around the Earth's equator within which radiation levels are elevated by the planet's magnetic field trapping charged particles from the sun. The inner torus is populated by energetic protons which they passed through in mere minutes and against which the hull of the CM was an effective shield. The hull of an Apollo command module rated 7 to 8 g/cm2. The craft took an hour and a half to traverse the more extensive outer torus but this region has mainly low energy electrons and so was less of a concern to mission planners. Also the inclination of the trajectory being in the plane of the Moon's orbit avoided the strongest regions of the belts near the equator. The Van Allen belts are no threat to astronauts passing through them at tens of thousands of miles per hour. Early probes enabled us to calculate, whilst Apollo dosimeters confirmed, that astronaut exposure from belt passage was roughly the same as a chest x-ray. Exposure for the entire trip to the moon was equivalent to from one to three mammograms, or half the annual exposure of residents of Denver CO. Thirdly, what do you mean "less technology than a common ordinary everyday cell phone"? What technology was lacking? Cell phones don't get you to the moon. Regarding computing alone, the AGC was a brilliant piece of kit. It was purpose-built, and did what was required incredibly well. It also could handle overloads by resetting itself without losing the instruction stack it had, which was prewritten onto rope core memory and would re prioritise those commands on the fly. This was also supported by the Real-Time Computer Complex (RTCC) which was an IBM computing and data processing system at NASA's Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston. The mainframe collected, processed and sent to Mission Control the information needed to direct every phase of an Apollo/Saturn mission. It computed what the space vehicle was doing and compared that with what it should be doing. RTCC worked in real-time -- so fast, there was virtually no time between receiving and solving a computing problem. IBM 7094-11 computers were used in the RTCC during NASA's Gemini program and on the first three Apollo/Saturn missions. Later, IBM System/360 Model 75J mainframes, plus peripheral storage and processing equipment, were employed. Two computers were used during a mission: one was primary; the other operated identically but as standby. So everything that you are "begging to know" you could have established for yourself had you either the will or the capability to do so. And what do you mean "we are all"? Don't project your ignorance onto others.
@rockethead7
@rockethead7 Год назад
So? How badly were you "begging for an answer," if you got your answer, but ran for the hills? Somehow, I think you weren't expecting an answer at all. And, you proudly were putting emojis into your post, as if you thought the entire world's aerospace engineers couldn't figure out what you think you figured out. Right? @glenndouglas8822
@glenndouglas8822 Год назад
So the Apollo missions were on ballistic trajectories, you know that don't you? Well because of this they passed through the belt extremely quickly, not enough time to damage human beings but they were extremely worried it would effect the controls but they passed through that quickly it didn't even damage any controls. When you are going that fast, it does not effect anything. And there is the answer. Now you are going to scream and shout because you never did any research on this. All you have done is watch conspiracy video's ( I doubt you even read books) that ignore facts and only say what you want to hear. Sorry pal but that's the truth. No conspiracy.

In the Astronaut Office, Aldrin was the most disliked of the group. He was arrogant and condescending. When training for the lunar landing, he campaigned vigorously to be the first to step foot on the moon. His ego and vanity demanded that he have that honour. The book “First Man” describes this unfortunate fiasco perpetrated by Aldrin. Al Bean (who shared and office with Aldrin and was ringside to this event) validated the story in an interview later in his life. NASA administrators Low And Gilruth were adamant that Aldrin not be the first out. They knew that Aldrin would not carry the mantle of “First Out” with class and dignity. After the decision was voiced to the crew, Slayton met with Armstrong and offered to replace Aldrin on the mission. But Armstrong kept him because in his own words “He’s good on the systems. He’ll be good for the mission.” And NASA was correct about Aldrin. After Apollo 11 Aldrin got into substance abuse, became an alcoholic, divorced multiple wives, tried to become and actor (his only appearance on screen was a cameo in the TV show “Fall Guy”), punched a conspiracy nut, had plastic surgery to retain a “youthful appearance” and sued his own children. The guy has had mental and emotional issues his entire life. He’ll always be number two.

@rockethead7
@rockethead7 Год назад
Well, your view is a little bit slanted, but, probably about 80% accurate. Note: one insignificant thing you got wrong is that Aldrin was in one of the Transformers movies, as well as about a dozen other bits in various sitcoms or movies. So, you were incorrect about him having only one screen appearance. But, that's not really important. As for being disliked, yeah, there's no secret there. Virtually none of the astronauts liked him. He had Lovell and Armstrong as his two commanders because Slayton thought they were the only two that could handle him. "Overbearing" was one good adjective to use about him. He almost undoubtedly has Asperger's, which makes him socially awkward. He didn't have ill intent, but, yeah, most of the astronauts felt that Aldrin thought he was better than everyone else. The thing is, yeah, he was indeed awfully darned good, probably the best technical astronaut they had. And, you could say that he let that go to his head, and yeah, it probably did. His arrogance was pretty dominant. And, yeah, Slayton nearly kicked him off of Apollo 11. But, he figured that Aldrin would be the best man for the job if they needed to navigate back home without functioning computers or something. My wife and I were having breakfast with him once at an astronaut event (I'm not an astronaut, I was just attending the event), and Jim Lovell walked up and asked to sit down. I got the vibe that the two of them hadn't spoken in a long time, and Lovell was reaching out to eat with us as a sign of peace, being that they were old Gemini crewmates. But, that turned quickly. Aldrin started gouging into Lovell for the mistakes in the "Apollo 13" Ron Howard movie (Lovell was technical advisor). And, yeah, pretty soon, it was a one-way conversation with Aldrin arguing about gauge readings and stuff (I know the details, but, I'm skipping them here), saying that Lovell was advising Howard wrongly. And, all Lovell could say (repeatedly) was "that's not how I remembered it." But, ironically, I think Aldrin was probably correct, and Lovell was wrong about his own details. In subsequent times I've met Lovell, I never asked him about Aldrin, nor did I bring up that breakfast. Nothing really had to be said, but, yeah, I pretty much assume Lovell regretted sitting down. Yeah, the word "tact" isn't in Aldrin's vocabulary. Well, at least not 15 years ago (that's about the time that this breakfast happened). Personally, I cut the guy a lot more slack, a bit like I cut Michael Jordan slack for treating people like he did on the basketball court. Having the "I'm better than you" attitude is indeed pretty annoying, but, when they can back it up (like Jordan on the basketball court), I don't get as annoyed. Not that I'm saying Jordan (nor Aldrin) are "nice guys." No, that's not what I'm saying. But, personally, I don't hold ill will, and, I've always been extremely grateful for the amount of times Aldrin has sat down with me to answer my million questions, etc. I don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Dr James Van Allen was asked how the astronauts got through it. Do you want to read his answer? Three astronauts did swear on a Bible that they walked on the moon. Do you know who they were?

They all took their helmets off when inside the lunar module. After being on the surface, their suits were covered in dust, and the smell was very clear to all 12 of the moonwalkers, who have all commented on it.

The president called the moon on a rotary phone. The phone cord survived 25,000 miles of radiation ☢️ when we still don't have the technology for a man to survive leaving Earth's orbit.

Newsflash! Radio transmission...it's a thing. Bloke called Marconi, 1895, may have passed you by. Landline + Existing microwave network + radio patch + giant f**k off radio telescope dish = signal to the moon. Why is it even necessary to explain this to someone in the 21st century?

@@jax993 *_"Maybe it went thru the ozone layer remember when that was a big issue 😂another lie we were told 😂funny how they don’t talk about that anymore"_* What the hell are you on about? The ozone layer isn't a barrier to spaceflight. The 'big issue' that you refer to was its depletion. However since the inauguration of the 1987 Montreal Protocol to phase out the production and consumption of ozone-depleting substances such as CFCs, it is expected to have fully healed within the next two decades. And yes, there is a large volume of scientific literature and current discourse dedicated to the ozone layer.

Surely you can't be that stupid. OK I know it is meant to be sardonic but maybe you should find out how the telephone call was patched through to the radio link from Houston to the moon. What makes it so difficult for you to understand. I know moon hoaxers are not the sharpest tools but really?
@TheWokeFlatEarthTruth

You do not understand how a phone call can be patched into a radio network?..............Seriously???? Also please explain how the frequencies used in the Unified S Band system of 2025-2120 MHz (uplinks) and 2200-2290 MHz (downlinks) are going to be effected by the radiation between Earth and Moon. Also please enlighten us on what "technology" do we lack "for a man to survive leaving Earth's orbit". Please give us your evidence and do not post and ghost like so many others do. Take care.
