I'm going to ask this out of a desire to learn and no bad intentions what so ever. Wouldn't it be easier to cut the hair with the scissors after pulling the hair into a ponytail and then go through with the clipper?
Great question! Keeping the hair long helps for me to hold up the hair with one hand and keep tension on it while I cut through it using my clippers with my other hand. This also saves a lot of time.
