As a person who voted to TDP in 2014, was highly disappointed by the then government, which ignored Sivaramakrishnan committe recommendations entirely, and go with a report of group of idiots who belongs to the party of the then government ( of course the report even was pre decided ) to build a greenfield city which is entirely unnecessary, and the reasons they said, efforts they made to make visakhapatnam out of debate for capital, which is and was the only best option to be capital with no other city to compete with vizag in AP to be capital. Due to this foolish step i was against to TDP and in 2019 though I voted to YCP but not with wholeheartedly as YCP didn't gave clarity regarding discontinuing Amaravati and shifting capital, but this time I got a chance to vote YCP wholeheartedly, hope YCP retains power and visakhapatnam becomes the only and permanent capital of AP.

@@Comiclover234 yeah sure, though the present government keep on saying three capitals, but the actual concept is declaring visakhapatnam as capital, see capital city means where the administration of the state works from and where the HOD's of the administration offices locates especially secretariat, highcourt has nothing to do with administration, keeping highcourt in a city other than capital city doesn't make that city as another capital. So the actual capital is the executive capital where the administration works from, which is visakhapatnam here in this case. If a state has two capitals then that state should have two executive capitals which is impossible, even according to present government we have only one executive capital and it is visakhapatnam.

There is a case running in high court, so we can rule out the possibility of vizag as capital. Hon cm Jagan also welcomed the decision of capital in vijayawada when he was the opposition leader. Do you think that all the public money that is poured into already constructed buildings in Amaravati going to waste is the correct thing to do? I believe that Jagan should have opposed the decision as opposition leader when he thought that vizag is a better place as capital of AP as this could have eliminated the interference of court in this matter. AP can "survive" with the existing cities and gradual development. But it will take decades before it starts competing with cities like bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai to say the least. Amaravati would have placed AP on global map within 10yrs. It wouldn't make sense if govt is spending lacs of crores public money on this project. But most of the funding was procured through public private partnerships. Biggest expenses of all - land procurement was easily done through land pooling on development basis. AP and this nation lost a global opportunity. It lost 10 yrs, and needs another 10yrs even if starts rebuilding now.

Even before 800 years from now, Muhammad Bin Tuglaq at first taught that capital must be at centre of the kingdom and so he shifted capital from Delhi to Daulatabad but later he learned that capital must be at a significant place and a suitable city but need not at the centre. So he again shifted capital back to Delhi, in general the existing best and developed city will be the capital of a newly formed state.

See as individual, if you already have a most advanced house with all facilities in the area where you work, then there is no need to construct another house in the same area, better to use your resources for another investments like assets, car, furniture anything other than another house. Even visakhapatnam land is very fertile compared to rayalasema. Place capital near ananthapur since that's where crops are hard to grow. But guess what there are huge water problems there. Cities are facing a water crisis. Even Hyderabad with the supply of 2 major rivers can't supply water to the entire Hyderabad. Bangaluru is also in the same situation. If you know anything this year places near Amaravati declared drought regions and they didn't release any water. There is a huge water body near krosur became empty with lack of water. And people are barely producing 1 crop with ground water and wells. And here you are saying it's fertile land. Did you know Africa has better quality of land than India. We are already destroying our lands and crops with fertilizer and no one talks about it. Any place in Andhra can be developed. There is no this place potential this place doesn't. They choose this because it's center to the state and having right beside river no water problems which is a major concern for india today. Having a new city which also helps us because our population is not small to have a single city. If you think Govt should use all their lands. What will the future generations use.
