Good review. I smelled Tygar in a Bulgari boutique. Loved it. Bought it. Then later, got a chance to try Afternoon Swim. Similar, yes. But, altogether, I've found the coolness of AS preferable over Tygar. To me, Afternoon Swim is truly like jumping into a cool pool glistening blue in the sun -- or that's the power of the suggestion of the name. In any event, I sold the Tyger. Great stuff, yes, but Afternoon Swim was the one I preferred.
Jacques Cavallier is a master at doing ginger. Both afternoon swim and Tygar have great ginger notes. If you want the most elevated version of these fragrances with the best ginger I have ever come across I highly recommend Symphony from LV. It is from the Extraits collection so it is very pricey but it is on another level when it comes to citrus fragrances for sure.
