Haha liked the thumb needing a thumb. glad to see the tractors all good. Just found broke a tooth off my rear pto feeder shaft today unfortunately so it looks like im going to be doing a full teardown:(
You should check with Kubota to see if that part is available. Someone posted in Facebook BX Forum that they could not get a new PTO shaft. Someone suggested a place that has a few Kubota tractors in salvage.
@@ya472 I'll have to contact messicks as their site says they have one in stock. Boy that would be something if they cant get the part for a machine they are still making with it! I'll be pissed. Not a cheap date either $230. Just havent found any info on removing the bearings from the end of the shaft. Im guessing just a puller with some really long claws but not sure. Have to do more digging. Not happy that they built it not able to hold up to a lousy 20hp
@@Tyler_Koehn Could be a couple of reasons: it 'never' happens (like the BX differential lock fail- see my teardown videos) or because of shipping shortages. Odd thing for me, a local Kubota mechanic told me they replace 2-3 diff-locks per month, and at the other local dealer, the parts guy says I am the only one to order a differential case and parts. I did it TWICE. However, a salesman told me the average local machine has on average, only 200 hours on it.
@@ya472 yea I hear ya! I've watched all your vids on the topic. Most people probably wouldn't attempt the repair though so would make sense why they aren't selling the parts. Really has me thinking about getting rid of this machine once I repair it.
@@ya472 I had mine done at Kubota. Same thing,,,we never do these diff-locks. Oh-Ok. 🤯 If a guy was to get another Kubota,,, any suggestions since your probably the only guy I've seen do this much work on the BX. Thanks neighbor.
