This is, theologically speaking, one of the best I have ever heard. It stands with the classic hymns. It ignores the me-and-Jesus faults of so many worship songs and directs our attention to God in Christ and to the Church as God's instrument in the world today as in ages past. Thank you so much for the questions you ask as you compose music for the Church.
@Joseph Dobrozsi what I refer to as the "me and Jesus" faults are attitudes which focus solely on one's personal relationship without drawing the individual into service to others. If you look at the story of the Transfiguration you will find this attitude in Peter when he suggests building booths, presumably so they can stay there and bask in the glory. Jesus, however, does not want them even mentioning the event until after the resurrection. Meanwhile, the other apostles are struggling to effect a healing/exorcism down in the valley. Jesus knew they had to get back there to help, and they had to proceed to Jerusalem where he would die. It is a similar self-centered emotion that I hear in so many "worship" songs that ignore the service aspects of a commitment to Christ. "Me and you, Jesus, ol' buddy; that's all I need." An occasional such song might be healthy, because a Christian does have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. But to use mostly such songs makes an unbalanced worship experience and an unbalanced Christian life. Another aspect of such songs that bothers me is the unthinking familiarity. For example, wanting to see the face of God is an arrogant wish; the holiness of God would destroy us, for even though we are cleansed and redeemed we would be in the same position as Isaiah. We are in position to act as if we would just like to drop in on God. It is simply not our place to express such a desire. If God wants a person to have such a vision He will make it happen. These songs make light of the transcendence of God, His "otherness" if you will and often make it seem as if Jesus is one of the gang and ONLY that. In short, these songs present only a partial view of Christian faith, and unless they are balanced by songs such as this video they will mislead those people who do not yet have a relationship with God.
@@darwinsmith4354 it’s as though you’ve never read through the psalms! Heaps of examples of psalms concentrating on our personal relationship with God to the exclusion of our responsibilities as believers. Plenty of examples of desiring to see the face of God and pleading to have Him revealed. Sing worship is equally unbalanced if everything has to be theologically correct and we aren’t free to sing and express our deepest struggles and yearnings. Re-read the psalms and ask how many times the psalmist pleads with God, yearns, demands, cries out, writes almost entirely about their own struggles and desire to see God revealed. Maybe that will help rebalance your own view.
My parents are christian my mother used to listen to this music. She gave up hope she gave up living she got depressed and took too much stress and took a heart attack and God took her before she took her own life. I was abroad when she left this world and tonight I can't contain my tears. Healing begins
My father die last year and I still have a BIG pain, but this song remember me his teachs, the last day I saw him,I say.. I serve you dinner dad? .... and he told me....go feed your husband and children... The next day he have a stroke. I MISS HIM SO MUCH... this song is a BIG PROMISE FOR ALL OF US, BLESSINGS!!
What a gift your father gave you-- he honored your life as a wife and mother- and offered to you to continue in your calling when he said to feed your hushand and your children. I am crying reading what he did. May God continue to bless and comfort you dear.
This morning while listening to this hymn the Holy Spirit opened my ears and I suddenly heard the words. "By faith this mountain SHALL be moved! What mountain are you facing today? "By faith this mountain shall be moved, And the power of the gospel shall prevail, For we know in Christ all things are possible, For all who call upon His name?" No matter how tall it looks, no matter how many times we have tried to get past, around or over the mountain of __________ the power of the gospel SHALLL prevail. For we know ALL THINGS, even your victory over that mountain, are possible. For those who call upon HIS name!!
I'm believe this songs this because this is very nice and my favorite song in my life thank you too replies this song and soft and like thank you very much
This song totally takes my eyes off the devil, in that, I don't even think about the black eye he gets when the song is played or sung. Thank You Jesus that I am able to play this song on the guitar. It's definitely kick-butt to the forces of darkness, and it helps me to focus my eyes totally on Jesus.
Such a powerful and uplifting song. It speaks to my spirit. "We will stand as children of the promise. We will fix our eyes on Him our soul's reward until the race is finished and our work is done.🙌🙌🙌🙏
By faith, we see the hand of God In the light of creation’s grand design; In the lives of those who prove His faithfulness, Who walk by faith and not by sight. By faith, our fathers roamed the earth With the power of His promise in their hearts Of a holy city built by God’s own hand - A place where peace and justice reign. We will stand as children of the promise, We will fix our eyes on Him, our soul’s reward. Till the race is finished and the work is done, We’ll walk by faith and not by sight. By faith, the prophets saw a day When the longed-for Messiah would appear With the power to break the chains of sin and death, And rise triumphant from the grave. By faith, the church was called to go In the power of the Spirit to the lost To deliver captives and to preach good news, In every corner of the earth. By faith, this mountain shall be moved And the power of the gospel shall prevail, For we know in Christ all things are possible For all who call upon His name.
Our bible study is finishing Hebrews. Our leader chose this song to sing for our mornings. It is perfect. Thank you for writing this just for us! By Faith and faith alone!
I don't know if they will read this personally but we need to pray for the Getty family, too often we see believers as infallible and they have reached some plateau to where they are untouchable and can not fall, and as sarwinsmith4354 said, and they have ministered to me very much since I've started listening to them, so I sincerely pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that they continue to listen to the Holy Spirit and stay humble and do not ruin the ministry that the Lord is handed to them. Thank you Getty family for ministering to me through worship just want to thank you personally and please stay on the path and keep the faith!
This song is a prophecy of revival! Stop seeking in other people, Stop basing your faith on other people, Start seeking God's Kingdom alone, Start basing your faith on Christ alone, And pray fervently! God bless you all!
So, I will take your family and trow it to criminals and abusers and mockers. And advise you to look to the lord, not at the criminals and call it your cross. How dare you claim to be a child of God? Criminals should be exposed and punished. Not advising the victim that's there cross and born again drama and torturing as if the others are some less previlaged or some sin has left crimson stain and all such. He died for us and we were happiest. It's cannot be happening. It happened. Now, the criminals will be exposed and punished. The shit splashed on the holy spirit if it has been holy will not be left without punishment. Wrath of God is assured in the Bible for such. Therefore the ones tortured will be happy.
The only answer to seek the word is to ask god as peter did, 'if you truly are the lord, then call upon my name and ask me to come to you!' On which peter sought after the lord, walking on water! While his faith was small, it existed, true to his name, cephas is a rock that withstand the waves of the world. While the only true faith comes from within, the sharing of companion and faith amongst each other is what the kingdom, the church and being a christian is all about, alone, our faith is small, but together through communion it is fortified!
MY sister taught this song to the youths before she passed away because of cancer...that why this song is very memorable to us..it makes our tears fall down every time we play this song...
Yesterday I was on online church class and my teacher said to Remember this whole lyric I know it’s impossible but I have to try but I heard this ‘for we know in Christ all things are possible’
This is my class hymn that we sang at graduation. By the end, most of my class and most of the audience were in tears. Such a beautiful, powerful song.
The student band accompanied the choir as they did this song too at graduation and it’s so cool to hear those who’ve never heard this song before begin to catch on and soon it feels like the whole gym of voice is singing in sanctification with the angels. God is good and faithful in every situation!
With faith, we shall see greater things! Arise! Church of Christ, let us enter His rest, in this hour of trials where the world is in chaos, if there is a time we need God most, IT IS NOW! Hallelujah! I am Elaine from Singapore. Amen!
I think we should all sing this song in our churches this Sunday or at least listen to it. With all that’s being thrown at us at the moment, let’s keep the right perspective. Be guided by God and faith and not by some new virus. God has numbered our days. God has given us protection. God guides and leads us. We are asked not to be anxious about anything but to pray. Seek Him.
Amen. Such a beautiful song of a true believer in Christ. Recently I heard this song even though it's an old song. I enjoyed and worshipped Him. Let the author, singers, hearers and all Christians to live by faith not by sight. We can't live such a life through our power but we need much grace and power of the Holly Spirit. Please help me oh Lord!
Pray for my mom who might have cancer. She talked about this song when i was born and i had to.listen to it. In 6 and 7 grade i memorised this. Bless God. He can do anything!
This is a great song. Like Paul clearly showed in Romans, the gospel is about Christ. Plus, His kingdom and not about us. Many worship songs are look-at-me & my struggles, issues & help me! This song is God-focused. By faith, [everyone, church] look at Christ! And walk! Thanks be to God for this song & songwriter-singers. They honour God’s Word. Like all God’s servants in Scripture, they find joy IN God, not IN their own gifts, progress or performance.
Dear Keith and Kristyn, may God open more doors for you to keep singing for Him things the ears of the church too should hear. This song speaks directly to my heart and sure to those of all who still have the concerns of the Lamb in their hearts and those who are left with no other option but the Hand of God.
Don't focus on your problems in your life to the point that you forget how strong your God is! Use your worries about School, tests, relationships, etc. to draw yourself to God.
gatty's songs makes me feel so of. my sin's and with this songs i render an atonement for my sin's and speedily the lord hears and forgive me of my short comings. amen
This particular song really softens my heart when it gets hard. I am reminded of the Scripture in I Corinthians that says, "Eye has not seen, nor has ear heard, nor has it ever entered into the hearts of men, the things that God has prepared for them who love Him."
Triumph song of praise as children of the promise.. Thank you Keith and Kristyn and team for coming and sharing your gifts with us..our prayers are with you for God's abundant grace and blessing on your and your families
Woke early to spend time with God. Ushered in the dawn with songs from Awaken the Dawn. Devotional was Love Not Sleep meet with God in the morning! Psalm 96 Sing to the Lord. Sing new songs. This was one of them from me to Him! Thanks for helping me Praise God this morning!
This is a wonderful song!,in our school we have a chapel service and when its the day of recognition,The praise and worship team sings this..its sad that our school will now shut down, but ill remember the memories by this song
the lyrics of the song is very powerful and is enough as a reminder to everyone of the main purpose of our existence. Faith makes us hope for the things we still haven't seen.
My Lord! Forgive me, my parents, and whoever enters my house in faith, and ˹all˺ believing men and women. And increase the wrongdoers only in destruction.” (TQS. 71 : 28)
