Another great review Jenny. thank you....and one of my favourite steam models. I've always been fascinated with the Railmotor ever since I saw a video of the real thing. Kernow seem to have captured it really well. I'm so glad it's in 00 gauge though because my layout is 0 gauge, if it was 7mm scale I'd be very VERY tempted 🙂 I wonder if Dapol or maybe Elis Clark Trains might come up with one in the future? Can you imagine the detail they might include? Plus of course it could have fully synchronised sound and smoke, and with a full complement of ModelU crew and passengers that would really bring it to life!. Wow... I'd be sold in an instant! ❤

I had the pleasure of riding in this rail-motor a while back when I visited Didcot Railway Centre, it is an extremely unique vehicle and the Kernow model is as near perfect as you can get. A very good video showing the quality of one of our lesser known manufacturers, well presented Jennie.

Ordered the earliest GWR No.61, sound fitted. Tried it on a friends DC layout, ran very, very slow even at full power, sound worked well. Lovely to look at. The real worry is that the mechanism seemed to keep catching when running in one direction, (not in the other) also a bit it like a cracked gear. I phoned Kernow and they suggested running it in on DCC, not DC and hopefully everything will sort itself out. We shall see, if that sorts itself out then 10 out of 10.

Lovely model.I found it difficult to get into the model as the handrails appeared to be glued in on my example.I have heard that mentioned elsewhere as well.

I have wanted this model for over a decade, since seeing an O gauge version. I ordered minr nearly 7 years ago, but changed to sound version when announced. Had to wait longer, but very happy as large choice on sound version. Only disappointment, minor, arrived with chimney off, presumably not refitted properly when decoder fitted. Great loco we'll worth wait, we'll done Kernow.
