As requested, 2 in 1 ! No deckshield and no masking unit video. Check out all our other videos. Look for us on Facebook Garage Bowling Alley groups/garag... and Vintage Bowling and Collectibles groups/24599...
Thanks for the reply. Sounds like you have run into good luck like i do with the vintage balls. I got a starfire for free about a year ago just took it to my pro shop. All he had to do was enlarge the thumb hole and slightly open up the fingers for inserts fits great .took it as a spare ball. Like it
We love the vintage balls too! We probably have 60 or so of them that we were able to get from the church that the pinsetter came out of. The four finger Starfire is probably Rob's and my (Aaron) favorite one.
Our local alley never used deck shields until they converted over to A-2 models. At the same time they removed the star shields and went with a more modern flip up maskings.
You should do a vid that details the operation of the ball cushion. For instance you can easily see that it lifts part way up when the machine is triggered to allow the ball to return, but why does it pull up a bit further when sweeping (machine approaching 180)? Often wondered what the point is of that brief motion.
I’m not a fan of the naked look with the both the masking unit & deck shield. Is the Gold Crown masking unit gonna be put up again? You have originality tho & bowling needs more of it
It’s coming back ! I have another one now so it would be a different one. I love the tangerine but I’m trying to think what color to paint this one. Either baby blue or probably light green. The other one you’ve seen isn’t going anywhere. I like to rotate them around to change the look.
This is amazing. How does this setter detect the remaining pins. I think the new setters have IR LED's or something to "look" if there is a pin under the drop chute right? Does this one just have mechanical switches in the pickup mechanism to detect which pins remain when it attempts to pick them up for the second throw? It's my dream to become an old man with a bowling alley in their house.
I came upon your videos by trying to fix an A2 machine at the alley I work at. I am trying to find someone that I can connect with to help with these issues that do come up. Do you know of or are you able to connect on helping fix some of these problems? Thanks 😎
Could you do another video with the AMF Masking Unit, and the sweep from the AMF 82-30 pinsetter, and maybe get a couple,of sets of AMF pins with the double black pins around the neck?
I Just hung the Streamlane masking unit but I could easily do the other AMF masking unit. I’ve never hung that one before. The double black stripes are pinnacles
I’d like to know what percentage of times would one red pin out of 20/21 pins in the machine would it appear in the head pin position during three games of several people?
Good question! The red pin comes up in every other rack and has a one in ten chance at being the head pin. But I am not sure how to calculate the real odds. ~Aaron
