I'm from Czechia where Vietnamese people always has been working and living and they are the kindest, most hardworking people I know. I absolutely love them, and it's good to see how their home nation developed over the years.
I have the same experience with Vietnamese in the Czech Republic. (Možná že život v ČR je klidnější nežli ve Vietnamu a proto máme jinou zkušenost s Vietnamci nežli autor v předešlém komentáři.) Jinak ).
@@laosasean8482 Lol! nice try, Wumao. You may wish to invest more than 4-5 seconds on your horrible gaslight sales pitch. It’s sad. Only one of those countries INCREASED their official strategic partnership status with the US this past year. Hint: it is not the Philippines. The arc and velocity of Vietnam’s partnerships w/the US is currently at an all time high . Who knows how high it will go ? …it’s just evolving & changing by the week. eg VinFast cars are now starting to stream into the US market. Forging this bond is the fact that that the Vietnamese people in general have MUCH more distrust with the PRC , than they do with Americans ; which says a LOT, considering they were once at war with both. The fact that there is a massive Vietnamese-American community in the US who are now very successful, and even now increasingly politically ambitious /voter base at the regional level…. Is swiftly aiding this new era of collaborative relations, built on goodwill.
As an Australian who has just come back from traveling Vietnam, I can say it was absolutely stunning and the Vietnamese people have much to be proud with there immense and growth as a nation, very happy and proud for my Vietnamese brothers and sisters
I'm Australian. My wife and I used to live in Laos. We'd fly to Ha Noi for a long weekend away. Loved getting lost in the Old Quarter. My wife reckons Ha Noi has the best shopping on the planet.
I am a Chinese, have lived in Vietnam 2years. Vietnam has a lot of beautiful places, I have travelled. I have met a lot of friendly Vietnamese people, they are warm and kindness ❤(but maybe not everyone is good guy). I love this country!❤
Am an Indian & I visited solo to Vietnam in August 2023 for 12 days I had taken this Reunification train from Da Nang to Saigon I enjoyed a lot in the train and people in the train offered me food and drinks with a cute smiles It was indeed the best train journey of my life so far. Would love to visit 1 more time next year.🎉🎉❤
I recently spent 3 weeks in North Vietnam. I absolutely feel in love with the beautiful country, people and culture. Really hope to go back and explore the southern region.
Hi, I'm a Vietnamese girl and living in Hanoi. Thanks this channel so much for making such amazing video. ❤️ Thanks everyong for the love for Vietnam. Hope you gonna travel to our country someday and enjoy the trip! ❤
I'm a American , but my love for the person all trough Laos, Cambodia Thailand and Vietnam is so great , Such a Beautiful People and very hard working ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 💪💪💪❤️❤️❤️❤️ God be with you all and be safe always
Have taken this train from Ninh Binh to Da Nang. Those beach views are spectacular. Vietnam is a beautiful country and beautiful kind hearted people. I will visit again.
As a Vietnamese citizen, I think the only problem with this train trip from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh city is the painfully slow speed (1.5 days compared to 2 hours by airplane). But if you guys come from another country and are willing to spend so much time exploring Vietnam, this turns out to be one of the quickest ways. 😅
@@balsarmy The thing is Vietnamese train system was built a really long time ago. Recent attempts to renovate still can't solve the technically outdated nature of the trains. But on the positive side, we do improve the seat, bed experience and customer services to bring you guys a long but pleasant trip.
the video is so impressive. I really appreciate how diligent the team work to produce such qualified and amazing video. It shows me a lot about Vietnamese natural beauty and diversed cutures in different parts of the country. I watched every second of this interesting section
WOW! What an excellent movie. We live in the southern Philippines. Each winter we move for 1 to 2 months to Vietnam. We love this country and its people very much.
As a Filipino Canadian, I've always loved Vietnamese culture! Food, hardworking people, language are all so wonderful :)) The world can be an awful place a lot of times, but there are many beautiful people on this little planet as well
i agree with the food and hardworking people but the language is truthfully not one that connects with a wide audience like korean or japanese. You may find this rude but that some times comes with honesty, language sounds like they have something stuck in their throat. Much like tagalog. I do like palabok and the nightlife in the phillipines though.
@@UnknownCharacter-n9v don't really care if it appeals to the "wide audience" or not (And without any sources to back that up, that's only your own opinion). I just like how both languages sound and how SEA languages sound in general.
@@existentialbabyit’s so obnoxious how DW only respond to sycophantic compliments in the comments. I wonder if the 27 year old ‘journalists’ who made this just successfully scammed their employer for a free 2.5 week vacation in Vietnam wherein they did 12 hours of work total because they managed to get a couple vets talk to them on camera for 30 seconds, or if this is actually the VN govt paying for unbelievably flattering fluff pieces in western media with the caveat that they interview some old party guys.
Hello. I am Vietnamese . Thank you, our friend, the Federal Republic of Germany, for making this film. I read through many comments and unexpectedly there were many people who loved and understood Vietnam very much. Vietnam is a narrow and long country. Vietnamese people are very open and friendly. Vietnamese people love peace and put aside the painful past. great altruism. Remember that day. My grandfather came back alive after terrible battles with America. Cambodia and China. He lost his memory because of that horror. There were nights when he suddenly woke up and screamed, recalling the names of his fallen comrades with unfamiliar names. "There were days when he ran into the street and screamed, "Forward!" Stand up, comrades. Stand up to defend your country! Viva Vietnam ! Long live Ho Chi Minh! I can't imagine what he went through. My tears fell a lot. Thank ! The people who laid down their lives forever for their homeland, for the beautiful country of Vietnam today. So that we can live perfectly in Peace .
In 2019, I travelled on this train twice with my Vietnamese sister. It was one of the fondest memories of the trip to Vietnam. The view along the coast is breathtaking. Vietnam always has a special place in my heart! 🇱🇰❤️🇻🇳 I appreciate the DW team bringing back memories. A superbly produced documentary, as always!
This documentary is so well-delivered. I want to send my deepest thanks to the DW Documentary for putting out such thorough and thoughtful content that not only showcased the beauty of Vietnam from the North to the South but also gave valuable insights into the Vietnamese cultural tapestry!
Vietnam, as Anthony Bourdain once said, 'Vietnam will change you, her beauty, her culture, her people. Once you visit, you will never be the same.' and he was right.
A fascinating rail journey. It's pleasing to see how their country has recovered from the pointless destructive war. Whilst living in Australia I had many good Vietnamese friends. They are nice people. My age and health status now sadly prevents me from visiting.
How amazing it is to see this video talking about my country. Thanks to DW for showcasing our culture, heritage, and local cuisine. Especially, the stunning views that I have never seen in my travels.
We have defeated Mongolia, France, fascist Japan, America, England, and China during the 4,000 years of building our country. The Americans dropped 14.3 million tons of bombs on us, killing about 4 million people. After that, they also supported the Khmer genocide in Cambodia and embargoed Vietnam for 25 years. We in 1990s were completely poor, backward, illiterate, the consequences after the war no one in the world could understand. But with only 30 years of development to date, we are proud to have surpassed 2/3 countries in the world. We are no longer poor, a resilient nation will forever endure.
I am pilipino luv watching vietnamese vlog.I luv this country as an asean. We luv the vlog about transforming junk into a multi million dollar car. There are many vietnamese living here in the Philippines .
This DW channel is one of the best, another great work you guys are awesome! And Vietnam, hats off if you know how their country was destroyed thoroughly, a miracle indeed! An Asian tiger becoming, already a global manufacturing hub

😍😍😍😍😍DW always create great documentary. 40 years after the war Vietnam is so peaceful. I love DW documentary. Vietnam is such beautiful country. The scenery is fantastic. Danker schon DW!
We’re from Bangladesh, visited Vietnam some twenty years ago , it was a thrilling experience to learn how bravely Vietnamese fought the mightiest & brutal enemy USA , defeated them and win the independence , wishing all the best for heroic people of Vietnam.
They didn`t defeat anyone, the u.s left , and the nva produced nothing al supplied by fellow COMMUNISTS russia and china , i woner why the saintly u,n never exposed the COMMUNIST re-education camps and their killings
I am Vietnamse, grown and live in Saigon, Vietnam. War is a part of our history. As a Vietnamese, I always remind myself not to forget how much our ancestors has to suffer for better future. But deep down I really hope that one day the world gonna known and talk about Vietnam about something else not just war.
As a son of Vietnam residing in SAIGON, my dream is to fully explore my country, immersing myself in rich cultural experiences. I am so happy to live here despite of some negative factors such as traffic and poverty in some regions. Believe me, you hardly could find somewhere else with such delicious culinary, vibrant night-lifestyle and the friendliest behavior towards foreigners.
This journey is truly emotional. What makes it even impressive is that I heard all various Vietnamese accents. I wouldn't mind calling this Vietnam 101, where you meet people from all walks of life. Thanks so much to the DW team!
As a Pakistani I fully support love respect and support Vietnam Cambodia and Laos and its beautiful people from Pakistan 🙂. Best regards from Pakistan 🙂.
Watching this made me remember my trip from Ha Noi to Saigon in 2000. It's not so convenient at that time with the tough seat but the view was breathtaking .
Thanks DW for this nice documentary. Since I live abroad for mire than 10 years I recognize that our people in fact work very hard, we can stand through out the difficulties.
I hope that one day when high-speed trains are available in Vietnam, this train will still be here and for those who like to live slowly. I really like this train. It's strange, but this train is a witness to the changes in myself and my country. It's more than just a means of transportation!
@@kimduong2332 Vietnamese are very nationalistic people. One side lost, one side won. It's better to move on and remember what was lost. The young kids don't have the same burdens of living through a divided nation where the North started all of this by executing their own Vietnamese.

I took the same train, although just a short distance, between Da Nang and Hue a few years ago. The coast line was beautiful from the train. However, the restroom on the train would certainly benefit from being cleaned more often. I also found it interesting that each train car had a separate conductor and that each train crossing and tunnel had a human guard, something no longer seen in the West.
As a Vietnamese living in Hochiminh city, to tell you the truth, I have never used the train to go to Hanoi. I have also heard and read some comments from foreign tourists about the toilets on the train. To tell you the truth, I am very sad and embarrassed. But 2-3 months ago, I read a Vietnamese article saying that Vietnam's railway service has changed a lot to attract customers due to a recent decline in sales. They have changed the toilet room design with more modern equipment. They have also renovated some of the train's rooms, even converting the train's rooms into rooms like 4-5 star high-end hotels or bars to attract high-end customers.
@@lexuanson1616 No need to be embarrassed. Vietnam is still a developing nation. I'm sure things will improve with time. I loved the two weeks I spent in Vietnam and I hope to go back soon.
As always an amazing documentary by DW 👍. Thank you DW for taking us on a beautiful train ride across Vietnam witnessing the beautiful landscape & scenery across the journey.
Wow, the places everywhere look amazing. The train looked outdated yet its incredibly neat and tidy. I would say the cleanliness inside train are more satisfactory.. I appreciate, how peoples of vietnam have positive outlook for days ahead. Vietnmese may be loving and hospitable to tourists. Worth watching. 👃🤠👃
Loved the train journey by the Train of Unification...Praying for the continued PEACE amongst the peoples of the World...Vietnam has set a great example...The commentator was wonderful with a very moderating voice...The background music isn't always soothing as it interferes with the commentary...! Keep travelling...Thank you DW...🚂🚆🚂
It is amazing how Vietnam was able to at least maintain their railway network which the Philippines was not able to do despite being destroyed in a war against the US
Vietnam rely on Russia and now China help. PH is so mountainous and an island nation so it is different. I suppose if PH accept to in debt to China, it will have a railways system.
As a Australian born after the American war ! I have absolute gratitude to these people that suffered so much from Satanic Western Countries...... So Proud of Vietnamese People ❤️🫵🦘😊😇🥰😘
As a Vietnamese living overseas and seeing the Documentary about my country, I have an indescribable feeling when hearing familiar sounds, music, mother language, and life vibes, especially the voice of the announcement every time the train reaches a station. I would like to thank for the great effort of DW team to make this documentary and spread Vietnamese culture to friends all over the world. Highly appreciate and warmly welcome to Vietnam!
I'm from Canada and we adore Vietnamese people! School friends and local families that own small restaurants have been the most kind and warm people i have ever met...I made it through Covid lockdown thanks to great pho and a sweet vietnamese woman😊 Thank you for sharing your culture!
As a VN descent from Thailand, my mother is one of immigrants who has been struggling her family without my father who was passed away from his PTSD by alcoholism. I always hope all indo-China countries will get better life even more and more from present-ward as last as ever!!!

Vietnam Railways has a length of 1726km. Every day there are 8 Thong Nhat passenger trains from SE1 to SE8, traveling from Hanoi to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) about 32 to 36 hours. Thong Nhat Railways runs parallel to National Highway 1A, passing through many regions with many beautiful scenes that are hard to ignore, typical of which are: Khe Net Pass, Lac Son Limestone Mountain (Quang Binh province). ; Hai Van Pass (Thua Thien Hue Province and Da Nang City); rice fields spread along the South Central region (from Quang Nam province to Khanh Hoa province) and many Dragon Fruit Gardens (Binh Thuan province); etc.🥰 In addition to the Thong Nhat Railways, the Railways also has some other popular passenger trains such as the Hanoi - Vinh train (NA1/2), the Hanoi - SaPa train (SP3/4 most popular), the Hanoi - Hai Phong train (HP and LP), the Saigon - Phan Thiet train (SPT1/2), the Saigon - Nha Trang train (SNT1/2), the Saigon - Da Nang train (SE21/22) and the most especially is the Ha Noi - Da Nang train (SE19/20). 😉 More specifically, from March 26, 2024, Vietnam Railways will open a very new train route, the Hue - Da Nang passenger train, which is expected to be very popular.😍🤩 Let's pack your suitcase, take a passenger train and enjoy a wonderful trip !!🤗 -------------------------------------- From Vietnam, Jackilson Nguyen ♥ (There may be some spelling errors, please forgive them ☺)
