@@triobyte I recommend "Broken Space" on ao3!!! Mari gets in a wheelchair but everything else is OKAY. NOTHING is wrong and EVERYTHING IS FINE. EVERYTHING. ITS VERY WHOLESOME AND HAS A HAPPY ENDING WITHOUT MUCH ANGST.
You know... this game saved me. It hurts to know we can't have an ending like this. If things did end this way Omori wouldnt be the same game we know and love. 💔 not everybody gets happiness, but that doesnt mean we shouldn't try to strive for it.
An universe where Mari did not die but was permanently incapacitated. After what happened she can't make it too far from her wheelchair and it's because of that accident. Mari was very fond of sports more than music. Her dream of playing professionally was crushed by this and riddled by sadness, she doesn't go out that often anymore since even though instruments became her new thing, it's not the same... She still misses those days. Sunny lives with the guilt of taking that away from his sister. He ends up creating a headspace but one further from reality since he's 12 and not missing moments with his friends. He must deal with a weaker version of Something that tears him apart. Mari never told anyone and even their parents think Mari simply fell from a tree in the backyard while noone was looking... Though everyone always wondered why she even climbed that tree... Why she would do such a thing. Sunny spent many years keeping the secret but seeing the way it affected her life and how she still wouldn't say a thing about the accident, it's when Mari begins to lose what little mobility she had from that wheelchair that leads him to break. Mari is now at the hospital and Sunny is all alone, more tormented than ever, watching his friends lament for her while knowing she put an end to her dreams
In this universe, Final Duet would serve the opposite role of what it did in cannon Omori; Instead of a sad and bittersweet goodbye, Final Duet would be a reminder that despite everything that was lost his sister is still there, loves him just as much and needs him more than any other time ever. He'd remember playing with her and reenact that moment for Omori as to focus on what matters; Be there for Mari, be there for everyone, stop playing mind games and letting the truth out as to not have your bigger sister lie at the top of her tongue everyday just for his sake

Sunny pushed Mari down, accidentally. Basil saw it and went to get help. They were lucky enough for Mari to survive. A few weeks past by, and sunny has been sleeping while crying nonstop. And then the door opened, And there was Mari.. in a wheelchair. Sunny runs to her and held her hand tightly. "MARI! MARI.. IM SO SORRY PLEASE MARI I DIDNT MEAN TOO I SWEAR I'LL BE BETTER!' Mari replies: "Ouch sunny you're hurting my hand a little, and don't worry sunny I'm okay now. I forgive you and this is probably my punishment for forcing you too hard to the point your fingers starts bleeding.' Sunny sobs and Mari kept on reassuring him until he stops out of exhaustion.
the image is canon depending on the way u interpret it mari use to play softball until she got a permanent knee injury after all oh, but the stairs thing, not canon I wish it was
@@bumbabees I think there's at least one line in the game about Mari having injured her knee in softball; otherwise I don't think I'd remember that happening so clearly.
Wow, this song hits… especially slowed like it is and paired with this imagery… but somewhere out there, there’s bound to be a fanfic that describes this.

this gives me an idea for the mod that Mari survived the fall from the stairs and was taken to the hospital (and starts like always with "Sunny don't blame yourself for what happened" and all that), and she recovers, the group does not fall apart and as if everything will end well, when suddenly the player gets a screamer from something, and something tells the player "STOP CHANGING REALITY, WHAT HAPPENED IT HAPPENED, STOP CHANGING FOR A HAPPY ENDING" and then time rolls back to the incident with Mari, but it went like in the original game, and the idea is that you can’t, just change the past as if you are some kind of god, and you can change reality with one click of your finger (I expressed the idea very badly, and it looks very cool, sorry)

Honestly this ending is MUCH better than what we could have gotten. If only someone made a mod like this where it only takes place a month after Mari’s fall and Sunny’s friends don’t know how to react and Sunny’s trauma and white space/black space is what would have happened if Mari died. Let’s call it “OMORI 0.1”

Imagine if mari actually survived. The game would be completely different. The game would be about sunny living without mari. Feeling lonely, and with having to spend everyday waiting for mari to come back. Sunny slowly conquers his fear of spiders and deep water. He spends most of his time with his friends. Waiting everyday for mari to come back. BTW: mari and hero or hanging out in a diff state or somthing
Nah this actually made me sad. Honestly just playing the entire game after spoiling everything to myself (well it was a very awesome review you know?) feels like even more sad... You just feel so shitty seeing them all so happy... Why... Why did this had to happen...
The image is nice, and fitting-ish with her character. It's actually depressing, considering what gone wrong and how it... just could have not. On the bright side, the traumatized versions of the characters wouldn't be here if this happened.
Also noting: Sunny's expression sure is something. It was an accident and... well, his emotion is obviously fitting with him having made a mistake and Mari's reaction being... you know. Don't know how that would go together with The Recital being ruined, but i guess the context of Sunny's increasing stress and overall annoyance/pain would make her understand, if he decides to bring it up. It's just really nice, and i don't have the capability to explain that.

This brings back the old memories when we all were kids and was running around the playground playing tag..I loved those memories.... Rest in peace mari... We all loved you...
She did? (Forgive my poor anatomical knowledge, I read this somewhere else.) She likely only broke a part of her spine or got knocked unconscious since a fall like the one she took isn't usually enough to kill someone unless they're incredibly frail. Likely the former since she would have awoken during the strangulation. The glare Sunny got as they ran off that created the "Something" was likely her staring, fully awake while strangulation ensued at her murderers fleeing.
Idk if that's canon or not cuz SOMETHING is Mari hanged and looking at sunny when they went back inside, If it is tho, that'll be disturbing af Imagine having an argument with your lil brother because he broke the violin and then tried to run away, second later he pushes you down and knocked you unconscious. When you wake up you feel lightheaded and your neck is hurting alot, You see your lil brother and his bff walking away, you tried to make out on what's happening but your vision is blurry, you tried to scream but the rope is too tight and you don't have that much energy left. You try to wiggle and untie the noose but you have no strength left. Suddenly you see your lil brother look at you and it gave you hope. But instead he trembles more and ran inside with his bff. You feel betrayed, there's no way he would do this.. right? As death is approaching, your life flashes before your eyes. And then you black out.
@@LightningNoob17 she has permanent knee injury cuz she played softball and got hurt, so trying to balance already hurts. She prob would be paralyzed because the knee injury already add to the stakes, plus she got some violin shards on her. *If only sunny and basil called for help..*
@@Yessixty I mean does the knee injury and violin shards really mean she’s dead? She might not ever be able to walk again but I can’t confidently say that she would have died, and even still the outcome of her death would be a lot less worst without staging it as a suicide on top of killing her.

Saw an au somewhere where instead of Basil walking in after Mari fell down the stairs he came in at the right time to break the fall and instead of them covering it up by, yk, they put him in the toy chest Ik nobody asked just that’s what this kindof reminds me of
