I have another video about returning the sun shades to their case, which is much more difficult than installing them in the car: BYD Seal Glass Sunroof Sun Shade #bydseal • BYD Seal Glass Sunroof...
there are inexpensive shades for the glass roof that can slide open and shut, but you might need to order from china, or ask the dealer. that seems to be a necessary accessory people are willing to buy.
Thanks for this - would be interested in your thoughts on if it helps with heat in the car while parked in the sun and also reduces glare while driving 🙂
So the roof sun shield is standard with the car, or the plastic/rubber boot mats are standard in Australia? I've a Seal Performance on order so would love to have both. Keep the temperatures nice and low and the mats would help keeping the car clean.
@@mjw25a1 G’day,I’ve also ordered the Performance model. Can’t be sure about the shields until the cars arrive, only reporting what I’ve read and been told.Mats are optional extras, fabric or rubber.Im waiting to see fabric ones, not available to see at the moment.Considering it started last year about placing an order for deliveries February/March this year and kept changing, believe it when I’m sitting in it.Best of luck with your order.
It went back into it’s bag after this video and hasn’t been taken out since. Even here in the tropics, the silver coated glass roof blocks most of the solar radiation
@EcoHouseThailand I heard that, and watched a vide comparison with Tesla, where BYD performed much better, so coupled with your experience, I'm a lot more confident it'll be OK. It's just that Australian sun is particularly harsh. Cheers!
Filming on your phone in bright sunlight you'd need to go into camera settings/ manual mode and bring down the iso. It helps. Those sunshades look very flimsy. Can they be used when the car is moving? I can imagine the shade falling onto my lap on bumby roads 😂. I'm glad the Seal U has a conventional shade. This car is gorgeous though. Thanks for the video.
I need a proper camera and a couple of GoPros, but the channel doesn’t produce any income and once the seal arrives in Europe and Australia the professionals will take over. I was hoping that V2L powering my house would have created more interest because I haven’t seen anyone else doing it, but people are more interested in what the seatbelt warning sounds like 😉
I agree and when I saw reviews of Teslas glass roof in hot weather I removed it from my list. I tested the Seal’s silver coated glass roof on a very hot day and was surprised it wasn’t hot to the touch. You should watch my video “BYD seal is it a hot car” for the temperature measurements.
