Watch Byomkesh Bakshi's eleventh episode 'Tasvir Chor'. Byomkesh Bakshi is a fictional detective in Bengali literature created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. He is one of the most successful and popular characters in Bengali literature.
Doordarshan now brings to you the entire series of this literary classic which was televised back in 1993 directed by the brilliant Basu Chatterjee. Actor Rajit Kapur played the role of Byomkesh Bakshi, for which he was highly praised. Ajit was played by K.K. Raina and Satyaboti was played by Sukanya Kulkarni who was the first actress to play the character.

I can prove that the total tea used in the entire 38 serial is around 1.0-1.5 kilogram. That's it. Those days in the late 80s, the tea powder packet would cost would be around Rs 50-100 per kilo, Not more. Do you know what can be approximate cost of an entire 38 serial cost. Don't speak out words consuming thin air.😏😏😏

solving mysteries by only acute observation and deductions from it with aid by understanding the psyche of criminal... he doesn't need call record details,, no GPS... nos cctv cameras no lab testing.. it brings back childhood memories when we used to wait for whole week and discuss the episode whole nest week with friends in school.. those were days when background music was there, where it was required and we all could understand the dialogues... nowadays no second in serial is without loud background music...

I think we should not discount Ajit in Byomkesh's success. Ajit acts as a counterbalancing force and influence. He comes up with such dumb questions or suggestions, Byomkesh's intellectual faculties such as will, reason, or instinct, are automatically fired up to bring about a mental equilibrium. Ajit's ludicrous and comical input serves as a balance to the serious criminal investigatory mindset of Byomkesh.
