To be fair, byu has a storied history of choking against loser teams after riding on a big win streak or big upset. Vs OKSU was shaping up to be that game. Maybe they've finally shaken it off?
@@johngaudy The only game I see them possibly losing the rest of the way is Utah. And it's not because Utah is good this year but because crazy stuff always happens in the Holy War. If they can avoid that loss, they're finishing 12-0 and in the conference championship game.
Very impressed with Retzlaff's improvement from last year. So surprised this team is as good as they are, Jay Hill really has changed this defense into an elite squad
@@RobbieStacks90and Ohio State only won because of a true freshman qb interception. You can play the “what if” game all day long, but BYU won and there’s nothing you can do to change that🤷♂️
@@RobbieStacks90 I agree that Ohio State was winning regardless. I mean, who couldn't win against a creampuff schedule loaded up with teams like Nebraska and Michigan State? When your conference has four good teams steamrolling 12 pancakes, it's hard to look bad.
VEGAS WHAT WERE YALL THINKING?! HOW WAS 7-0 BYU UNDERDOGS TO 3-4 UCF?!?!??! THE KNIGHTS ARE ON A 4 (NOW 5) GAME LOSING STREAK! Edit: Man, if I knew that Vegas had these odds, I would've put a LOT on BYU and struck it rich 😂
@@SenorHomesliceiowa state is a better team than k state and would give byu a tougher challenge in the big 12 championship. still think byu wins out though
@@tommynufer316 Id argue 2009 BYU was better than 2006. They got destroyed by TCU, but 09 TCU was a crazy good team. BYU beat 3 top 25 teams including a top 3 OU on the road to start the season.
BYU's offensive play-calling is so innovative. This is how college playcalling used to be. Now, teams want to run very conventional NFL-style offenses because the networks want CFB to be a mini NFL. UCF players got hooked so many times on the misdirection, and RPO plays BYU ran.
Retzlaff's not a Heisman candidate. He's good for the team and vastly improved over last year, he's good enough to get a win or two in the playoffs, but he's nowhere near top five player in the country.
Don’t let the score fool you. UCF is buns, we led 17-0 and then 34-10 at the start of the 4th. Idky we show so much mercy to bottom tier teams like UCF when killing them 48-10, which is what the score should’ve been if we didn’t kick those two field goals, would give us more national respect
@@ivespoken8902 But that's the trick.... anyone who watches the game. Few people west of the Rockies watch the games, so all they will know of it is a closer score than the game reflects and think "Oh, they just coasted by."
@@ivespoken8902 It's possible they played loose defense at the end knowing the game was in hand. But UCF's second QB looked better on those two drives.
Because B1G and SEC teams are emotionally invested in XII being shown as a lesser conference. So they chase the "your best teams aren't that good" delusion with their money, and they are why casinos are watering the desert in Nevada.
Now I see why Gus Malzahn was fired by Auburn. He stayed loyal to these running quarterbacks who aren't very good at football and UCF fell behind by 30 points, but when he puts in the pocket passer who was buried on his depth chart, UCF made this game competitive. BYU is not a great team. The Big 12 is horrendous. I'm just waiting for that game that they get blown out so I can bet a lot on the other team while the public is deluded into believing BYU is up there with Oregon, Georgia, and Ohio St.
Meanwhile, our old starting QB Gabriel is now winning on the #1 ranked team in the country after also tearing it up last year at Oklahoma. I’ve never seen a supposedly top tier coach getting paid what Malzahn is making and just dismantle and essentially destroy a school’s football program that was on the rise before he got there. Not to mention he lost to Navy, when they were absolutely awful, two years in a row before this disgusting season he’s caused UCF.
You are why Vegas keeps stacking the odds against BYU, why BYU is 7-1 covering the line. They are taking your money and you are bragging in advance about the single time you may be right. People like you are emotionally invested in BYU not being good, in the XII not being good, and you are chasing that with your money. And Vegas is more than happy to let you. I mean, the only reason they tear down a casino in Nevada is to build a bigger casino. Your contributions to that are appreciated, I'm sure.
If having older players were an advantage, then every major team would find ways to stash players for a couple of years. But not only does it not help, but the players who are gone for two years aren't practicing, aren't working out. It's not exactly a benefit.
I would love for BYU to get the natty this year but do you know how many random things would have to happen for BYU to get past Oregon, Ohio St., Texas or Georgia? I am not saying it's impossible, just highly improbable.
