Great video! That's an elegant approach to solving this problem. I suppose if you wanted to make sure you preserved thickness of the metal on the blended end bits, you could use Blend Curve instead, Join the curves, and 1 Rail Sweep the whole shape as one.

I like how you were able to manually select the position of the mirrored copy. Is this the default setting? Anyways, great job with the chain!

Yes, it is. but you can change copy=no at the option bar.

HI Diana, most of the time, you will buy the ready-made chain, it is cheaper in that way. If you need to custom made, you will need to make them separately and assemblage together both 3d printing and casting.

3D printing a chain poses some major manufacturing problems. If you're 3D printing waxes, you won't be able to cast articulated or moving parts, so you'd have to make the links separately. If you're directly 3D printing a finished product out of plastic or metal, you can get away with it, but you have to make sure you allow sufficient space in between the links for polishing and finishing, and you have to make the pieces a bit thicker than if they were forged and soldered. This explains why most of the time, people just don't bother 3D printing any chains smaller than heavy bracelets, if they do it at all.

if the chain are small size, you usually buy ready made one. it is more affordable in production. but if the chain is big size, you will need to cast them separately and assemblage them by hand.
