Anyone thinking this tank looks too modern, you’re completely right. The design is based off a project called the WZ-122-4, an MBT prototype from the 80s
It looks like it. With many changes and additions from WG of course. So instead of extending the tech tree line to make a more balanced game they instead make various adaptations to it and add a gimmick to it.
@@razyel7749 HESH isn't modeled correctly in WoT so any HE with abnormally high penetration is referred to as HESH within WG because that is how it functions.
to bust out the old calculator - The ratio between the damage of the shells for the 60TP and the BZ-75 is roughly the same, in fact the HE rounds are closer to each other (proportionally) than the AP rounds are: 650/750 = 0.86667 840/950 = 0.88421 (840/950) * 750 = 663
3 is 7 with turbo and good config can do the same and be Even more deadly. Once u use the jet Boost u can't turn fast or go back so if your teammates get in the middle of the Road... Welp u know.
@@lazyheart1238 nope, since the video is about BZ-75 which is currently available only on the test server I meant 3 x AMX 50Bs against 3 x BZ-75s. France won this challenge
I've had the same visual bug, rockets active, only the smoke shows. Overall from what I've tested both in the BZ-75 and in other tanks it feels fine. Nice chonky armour in most other places, the gun feels good up close which is where it seems to want to be which the rockets really help with. Shooting at it feels good as well, those weakspots meaning it can be poked at fine, and if the rockets are used badly they can't retreat. Feels like a tank that would have been extremely powerful a number of years ago, but today feels fine. More "Fine" tanks please WG, less borked monsters.
Fully agree, too many tanks out that are the next big thing, but that just makes everything else in the game crap - more tanks is great, but only if they're *reasonable* and not another reason for sweatlords to scramble and dominate the game
@@smokeandfear WG can and want to add more and more tanks. And not just because in that way people doesn't get bored, but because new tanks mean new crewmen and so, more gold to train them. Real money to grab. It's much better to select a good tech tree line and devote all your time (and money if you want to) to that line. Whenever I want variety, I switch off the computer and meet new persons.
@@caniconcananas7687 sure, but that doesn't mean that adding new and overpowered tanks every time actually makes the game better - arguably it makes it worse with power creep. That's why I'm saying it's *better* when they at least add a tank which has pros and cons.
This new line looks pretty balanced for a new line. Yeah it can go over 60 km/h when setup the right way but it has some easy weak spots on the turret and hull. Could be a strong performing tank with a good player that can make good use of that very high burst speed to get in good positions or ram.
This tank has all the weakspots that should have been on the BZ176. BZ176 has really no weakspots on the turret. You have to shoot the lower lower plate. It has a very low profile. And the gun is super OP. That tank could easily be a tier 10 with a bit more hp and alpha.
@@astasjaa The assholes at WG made that 41mm thick so we'd need 123mm gun to pen it. Most tier 8s have 122 or less with a few exceptions like Skoda T56 and VK. If it was 40 then it could be a real weakspot.
They look like a fun time in the game as they are now. I mean sure it's annoying facing a heavy in your face catching you off-guard like quicky did on Malinovka but i think because it has so defined weakpoints the enemy had a decent chance of taking him out up there. It's not invincible in hull down and on the other hand if you use a boost too many you might find yourself in a position you can't retreat from.
Considering the premium tank they added with the 160 caliber gun. I think they will do the same as they did with the Caliban and the Gonsalo. They can add another one with the same armor layout as the current tier 8 BZ and just give it a ''normal'' gun.
Kran also had almost the best DPM at tier 10 heavy, as an autoloader, also has better gun depression by 4° not only that but its turret is just WAY better because theres only 1 tank in the entire game that can contest its turret, and the weak points were basically non existent. All those things add up to the Kran being the best tech tree heavy tank at the time.
@@prinzvonbismarck6821 I am so glad WG nerfed Kran, it was opposite of fun. Ture they should nerf Chieftain and Ebola as well but less op tanks the better
As a player that returned a few months ago after many years break, the game feels so weird now. Many high-power heavy tanks with great armor, and now the very mobile heavies? The old armor vs mobility vs firepower triangle has become extremely washed out.
Some time ago WG realised that the general player base is made of persons that are not that demanding. In all these years the only time there was a meaningful protest was when WG intended to change the several crewmen of every tank for a single commander. And WG had to store their new Crew 2.0 proposal. But I think it was a sideshow to get the people settled with the other stupid things in WoT. Starting with big caliber guns designed to make effective fire beyond 1,000 meters used in a game where the maximum range is 720 meters with tanks stabbing each other at city corners like swordmen in the 17th century.
One of the main culprit is the new field modification they introduced. They should change that so the first field mod for HT (and TD) does not become free speed boost without sacrificing anything (due to how terrain resistance work counteracting the supposed hull traverse nerf)
I think a build option could also be Vstabs, Ramer and Turbo. And for modifications not take Padding Removal, but the other to be a ramming monster and protect crew. I also don't think the +2 (4 if the other is taken) is needed, when it can already go so fast. And uphill it will not hit the max speed anyways.
@quickybaby at 14:20 and specifically at 14:25 you can see the turret problem with bouncing shells penetrating the hull roof I mentioned in another video. The hole is at the bottom right of the drivers hatch
he got shot two times and there are two penetration marks at the turret weakspots - one on the center and one on the left weakspot, there are no penmarks at the hull, at least at those timestamps
@@helpinghelper4151 no, sir. It's not just another tank with a new stupid fantasy device got from any Munchausen tale. It's a new line to fill with new crewmen, new equipment and new field modifications. If you want to shorten the grind, you will have to use REAL MONEY to boost your crews' XP and buy all that digital content items WG has in their servers and you have not in your house to froze them in time and use it as you wish, without wheeled cars, artillery and street fight stabbing at close range like in the times of D'Artagnan and the musqueteers.
Thank you Wargaming for the EBR fl that made me stop spending money on the game and thank you for the BZ that made me stop playing the game. Thank you for all the extra time and money I now have!
Cus it was, the turret is a WZ-122-4, essentially just China's Leopard project. Its also the successor to the 122TM (WZ-122-1/2/3), and the predecessor to the 116 F3 (WZ-122-6)
I play wot on console and the only thing that I could think of during the first game on malenovka was that if he did this on console, all those 4 enemy tanks in front of him would’ve just rushed in, ate his hits and premium spammed him to death within a minute.
I play on console too. Players are definitely more aggressive when they know they have the numbers advantage. My guess is that even though there is team chat in the game, rarely anyone uses it so players naturally become more aggressive in hopes that teammates will follow them into the fight. That's what I usually do anyways
12:26 Wargaming confirmed in the patch notes that the entire line is supposed to be Assault class "The vehicle role for the BZ-58, BZ-166, and BZ-68 in the game is displayed as Breakthrough Heavy Tank instead of Assault Heavy Tank."
@@grovsmed4347tf you on ???? There is literally no way to know how thick the ZTZ-96/99s armor is, its literally fucking classified??? We dont know if the ztz has good armor or not, and no war thunder isnt a accurate tank armor viewer, also the ztzs do infact have era on them, especially the ztz-99a and its on the hull of the earlier ztz 96s and 99s
@@grovsmed4347sorry i misread it as you saying the ztz has bad armor, i had just woken up, but also with this thing you never know since its based off the design of a 1980s mbt from what i know
sad derp noises also a thing to consider, when you got flanked like by that k91, you have the option to, instead of engaging in the messy dance while being a slow heavy, just... boost away from them to open up the distance so you can get your armor around again
The big differential of this line would be the rocket boost and the large caliber cannon, now it just looks like an ordinary tank derp with rocket boost '-'
They look... boring. i wish they kept the BZ 175 idea of big gun tier for tier but they gave it a generic gun and made it the same as a million other heavys with some rockets. selling my type 58 this tech tree looks boring af
Everyone saying they hope this thing won't be op, the only thing this has going for it are the jet boosters, the gun is derpy, armor doesn't work when you have a shottrap turret with a full weakspot top of turret, and instead of allowing it to sidescrape they gave it the raised engine deck so that's obsolete, the tier 9 is pratically better in every single way, like even the e100 is better than this. they need to remove some of the dumb weakspots, remove the 30mm plates and replace them with 60mm right below the shot trap, and give it back the 180mm in a balanced state. Literally worrying about this thing being OP is a non-issue at this point, the issue would be keeping it from being worse than what's already here. 6 jet booster charges to go 62 is not worth the amount of weakspots it has, or the loss of its 180. And before people complain about the mobility, the V4 exist, the IS-7 exist, the 277 exist, hell the chieftain can go 51 boosted. VZ-55. Like this thing is lackluster already, all it has are cool looks and the jet boosters.
I almost left the game for good when they nerfed the type 5 DERP cannon because it was the biggest reason I made his line, so they just went there and ended the grace of the DERP cannon. I was really hoping that tier 10 could be a new tier X with DERP cannon, which is a lot of fun, but apparently it won't be. WG has the talent to relentlessly disappoint players and also has the talent to launch incredibly unbalanced tanks compared to the old tanks overlooked by game balance, see the T57 heavy with 2.7 second aim time with a simple 120mm cannon , has 0.35 standard accuracy and lands less shots than new tanks with more than 0.4 accuracy, the same happens with the 120 mm guns of the foch b line.
this tank would be ballanced but good if they A) remove the weakpoint in the middle on the turret, and buff the others on the side to 175 - 200mm ish, t10 tanks can stil ez pen em, but it isnt a massive weak bar on it. or B) give it 800 alpha dmg and 25 ish sec reload...
@@walteryugoslavia why are you moving goalposts now? They are clearly heavy tanks, those are THE heavy tanks in this game. The ones you mentioned are super heavies. That's how the community refers to them.
@Walter Yugoslavia are you talking about weight or are you talking about classification? Cause A tank can be under 50 tons and be a heavy or over 50 tons and still be a medium.
Yeah, a light tank, and more than that it can only pen a FV4005, grille 15, b-c 25t and the leopard with normal rounds that means you need to shoot a less alfa rounds in order to do something, and with that rounds its not better than other tanks who can pen you without scope you. So I think it's not the way you telling it is...
I find it crazy how they basically nerfed the kranvagn making it feel borderline not competitive anymore for being to good at exactly what they made this tank ridiculous at, as well as the super overpowered amx. Make it make sense
Feel like the second game perfectly shows off why these just don't belong in the game with those rocket boosters. They really should have way less armor if they can do things like that.
Now I get it. They did this tanks line instead of changing missions for heeavy tanks and Union hehe, some people still strugle with those. Now we just need to wait for some bad ass artillery with changing mode to TD to help with those missions 🤔
Known Issues The vehicle role for the BZ-58, BZ-166, and BZ-68 in the game is displayed as Breakthrough Heavy Tank instead of Assault Heavy Tank. During the Common Test some clan-related features may not work properly. In particular clan chat, clan page, and clan search The jet booster mechanic is not visually displayed when activated on the following vehicles: Tier VII - BZ-58 Tier VIII - BZ-166 Tier IX - BZ-68 Tier X - BZ-75
The armor is very good in terms of weakspots, glad WG did not make it have Minotauro armor, however they should buff the gun handling and DPM if they want to make it fun to play.
Why game changing coz there is a tons of uses of those rockets 1st you can move to important location and ambush 2nd you can run away fast 3rd you can flank and surprised your opponents with the rockets and ramming 4th you can go back to base and reset the cap 5th and it's got a good gun depression and at least weak points gonna balanced them otherwise it's a nightmare to deal this tank It's interesting to see how it's gonna go in clan wars to go against the chieftains though
I think wargaming is only using that gun for now so it can get tuned. If they offered both guns at this point most people would use the durp gun only, leaving this gun unused.
youre always my go to for tank reviews....but i 100% appreciate that you say "seven thousand six hundred"...instead of quite a few other CCs that will say seven point six thousand damage...its a minor thing but it rubs me the wrong way
This is not what we asked for, but needed. Tbh WG was just producing OP power houses so far, but finally something balanced and something not just for the cash.I like that they have finally gave something that is not just purely OP or for money, but to experiment with and have a good time with.
@@kertoja5223 I agree, there are too many in the mm,maybe if they made it extremely rare that would be something. But it's all about the money so they kind of just let it go...It's sad...
@FA_pro Rarity shouldn't be a factor on how OP a tank can be. And since so many have already bought those crates, it's kinda late for that anyway. They should bring down its accuracy and gun handling more on par with Caliban and maybe shave a millimeter or two off the roof, or make the cupolas at least more prominent.
Maybe they give it only small gun in this iteration to test how that gun performs? If they would give it option everyone would play with the big gun only. In my opinion that huge gun will come out in next iteration of test server
Honestly, I tried this line on the test server, other than the insane mobility, I really do not see this tank being OP. It's got ridiculous weakpoints (very good!) and almost any tank I fired regular AP and penned almost 90% of the time. It's not going to bounce much at all. Something QB also did not mention was the engine deck being raised up. There's a spot you can pen since it's angled upwards, so side scraping opens up another weak spot on the back. If you are also tall enough, you can just overmatched the entirety of the tank hull itself on top. For crying out loud I was using an ST2s AP rounds against this thing and it hardly bounced lmao
The derp gun is okay-ish on the tier10. On bz176 it is ridiculous, most tier 6 and 7 dont have the super amor to deal with HE, it shouldn't have had that gun. What a mess.
It seems like you’ve only rolled less than 700 twice, lots of 750+ rolls and even an 800+ with AP, kind of interesting, given the gun should have only 650 alpha, that’s some mad rng
I stoped playing 6 mounths ago, when I see this tank it's clear that WG didn't understand anything and are going in the wrong direction. It's sad to see that WoT used to be my favorite game but has become bad instead of improving 😥
@@colinrichardson9537 The direction that says Stop nerfing tanks for being fast then introducing tanks that are rocket boosted to 60+ doing 2x's the dmg per shell.
@@skulltaker6890 lmfao, did you even watch the video? This tank with these stats and armor layout is garbage, and it will be eaten alive by every other tank currently in the game...you just wrote that comment for the sake of it
the reason the tank looks so modern is because it was literally based off of the modern Leopard 1 after germany decided not to sell their tanks to china.
without the 180mm, the tank just feel a bit generic and underwhelming, with the low dpm and big turret weak point( a good thing, but don’t know why the middle has to be also a weak point tho)
This looks like a heavy tank to play where the mediums go, because if you are versus heavy tanks at short range (as seen in the first replay), you are going to die quickly with those horrible weak points... I put my QuickyBaby commander in the Type 58 and I'm already regretting it. Now that the rockets are in fron tier 8, they should put travel mode into the medium polish line, because they are a pretty boring line with the travel mode at tier 10 only.
Looks a lot more balanced than that totally OP BZ-176 abomination. Those things are just toxic. They can also nerf these if 12:42 they over perform, but we’re stuck with the moronic play of the premium. Like the look of these, but do we need rocket boosters with 6 charges! Frontal armour is still a little too good, as with that gun depression the hatches will be impossible to see and how may 150+ mm guns are there in the game to overmatch the side/roof! Turbo should not stack with rockets; to use the rocket boosters the gearbox would have to be disengaged; I know I’m a Mechanical Engineer!
I think WG made the right choice in removing the derp guns from these tanks. It does stifle the excitement for them quite a bit but I'm willing to accept that for the sake of keeping these somewhat balanced and not having a new derp gun daddy in WoT that can drive around at 60 km/h and has godly armor on top. They will still perform perfectly fine and perhaps even still be OP I'd say.
The ultimate tank would have wheel's, 5 turbo the fast engine mode, two barrels with is-3a guns but in tier 10, and Tier ten cheftain's turret. I don't know what hull it might be because of wheel's.
QuckyBaby i would like to make a suggestions for previews/reviews. When you compare tanks statistics then compare them to tanks that are average. Not the tanks that perform the best. Amx M4 54 - new meta tank. 60TP very strong tank to fight against. I get it you need to compare it to similar playstyle tanks. And so if there's reallly not something similar but OP tanks then compare it to OP tanks but atleast mention few times thru the video that 60TP is a strong tank and that in reality WG has made a nicely balanced tank. This is literally the reason why WG keeps adding better and better tanks to the game. Because the community says "What's the point of this tank, I'll better play my 60TP" Props to WG for actually making a fairly balanced tank. Atleast not overpowered like 60TP or AMX M4 54
Got rid of the 180mm bc you can boost past slow rotating heavies and cause a possible 1 shot kill in 1v1. Too bad I was looking forward the derp gun oh well
Weird, they made the tier 8 premium better than the tier 10. What's the point of grinding it? Sure it has more hp, but for the most parts it's a weaker version of the premium. Heck, just the armor alone should say something. Doubtful that they plan to nerf the bz176, but it would be nice as tier 6-10 is pretty miserable now if you don't have a ton of armor and hp Also, keep in mind the side you spawned on for malinovka has an easier time getting up the hill fast, so you're already at an advantage there.
