Celine really sings raw. But the warm eq of her mic and dry effect is not that pleasant to hear. I wish the sound guy made her vocals like studio eq. Maybe more treble to sound brighter and more reverb effects and echoes for style
You're right. The mic has nothing on it and it is dampening and dulling her tone right in its tracks here. It's amazing what a slight bit of reverb can do. Sometimes I think this is done on purpose to "test" the singer.
