As an Englishman with Welsh family and a deep seated love of Wales and it’s musical talented community, this is by far the most incredibly talented Welsh choir I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing, absolutely heavenly. I would pay good money to see these guys live in concert, in addition it would be monumental to see them sing the Welsh National anthem at the Six Nations rugby at Principality stadium Cardiff.
I was lucky enough to be taught music in high school by Rhys Jones. As a 14 year old in 1971, I can remember his daughter (Caryl Parry-Jones) and her friend (cannot remember her name) singing this song in morning assembly accompanied by Rhys. It left a huge impression on me and later on in life, as Musical Director of Welsh male voice choirs, this song always featured in my programmes. My involement with choirs brought me into contact with Rhys once again and we became firm friends and he was a great supporter of my work. A wonderful man, a great musician and still saddly missed by all who knew and loved him. This is a tremendous arrangement and rendition of this lovely song by a stunning choir of great technical ability and huge resources - straight on to my favourites list.
