Taking a look at the Italian C.205N2 prop fighter in War Thunder. ============================== I'm all over the place! Twitter : / timsvariety Facebook : / timsvarietygaming Twitch : / timsvariety ==============================
This thing surprised me when I went through the tree. I suspected it would be another hopelessly up-tiered fighter that's just a minor upgrade of a low-tier variant, but it's a fairly significant step up. The guns will rip through anything, and I had a lot of fun dogfighting in it. It really is on par with the later G.55 models.
I highly recommend using stealth belts, especially in AB, give it a try (all guns on this plane have very good stealth belts for example). Also, where do you get those enemies? They barely shoot when you're in front of their guns and ignore tracers all around them, mine usually react (I don't use tracers but they sometimes react after getting hit). In terms of reviews, I'd love to see FW-190 A-5/U2, it's my favourite plane in the game.
Hey Tim, great video! I’m wondering if you have a opinion on the whole every belt is a stealth belt debacle for the Swedish 30mm Akan m/55 cannons that got implemented
The so-called "5-series" Italian fighters (so-called because all of them have a DB605 powerplant and have a 5 as the last digit in their designation) were all highly praised by pilots who managed to fly in them (mostly German pilots flying over the Italian Socialist Repulic rump state after the Italian capitulation). These are the C.205, G.55 and Re.2005; all of them have fantastic engine power and firepower, coupled with a reasonably nimble airframe. I would strongly recommend using the 12.7mm Breda-SAFAT guns with the stealth ammo, as this maximizes your belts' amount of HEI. The 20mm cannon can use either stealth or air targets belt for the same objective of maximizing the Minengeschoss HEI (the stealth belt loses the tracer making you fire slightly less HE shells, but you can gain a bit of surprise factor with no tracer, and the 20mm APHE can help you deal damage to lightly-roofed ground vehicles...) I have gotten a few SPAA kills in Ground RB, since the guns can easily strafe out open-topped SPAAGs; your role is pure fighter though, so this is a great plane for Air RB.
An XP-50 review would be good to see if you get around to do it. It's no question one of the most overpowered planes in the whole game with it having literally no short comings. It's faster than 90% of it's oponents, out climbs 109s from the deck not to mention with the airspawn, it's guns will one tap bombers and it can even turn fight if it vomes to that. All in all a 10/10 premium
I like the serie 3 more than this . While the N2 is more agile , it suffers the same rudder issues and is slower in both climb and speed . The center 151 is better for long range shooting tho .
Would be nice to see a video over the Bf-109 G-6 Things like a mini-K4 when it comes to engine power, plus 3 mk108's are not always the most competitive, but even if you run just the nose gun, it hits like a freight train
Hi Tim! Great video as always. The quality of your videos is always really great. I had an idea to add to your reviews, wich might give it a bit a comedic vibe: A "dont do this" section, where you use the vehicle deliberatly as wrong as possible to show its glaring weakness by practical example. (Boom and zoom attempts with a Zero, or turning with a 190 against one for example).
