Built from a modified Der Big Red Max kit from Estes, the C-47 Max is designed to emulate a C-47 glider tug as flown over the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. The booster stages to a smaller, subscale Max located in the nose via a PerfectFlite miniTimer 4 staging timer.
Power is provided by an Aerotech E20-4 in the booster, with an Estes 1/2A3-4T in the sustainer. Markings on the booster replicate those of an actual C-47 D-Day veteran, "That's All, Brother," operated today by a Commemorative Air Force unit based in San Marcos, TX.
