C-47 Skytrain Flybys - Cleveland National Airshow 2018 

Here in Lee County, the same thing. Except the 90's for me. I have loved the C-47 since. Also just what it did during the war, and the fact that many are still earning their keep around the world.

This aircraft, all those years ago, is the one that started my lifelong love and study of aviation.

@@campbellsoup4646 the dc-3 is the MOST iconic airplane of all time. introduced in 1935 it revolutionised air travel providing cheaper faster safer and more reliable traveling experience carrying 28 passengers or 14 on a sleeper configuration.By ww2 it was converted into a transport aircraft with a useful 6000lb cargo.it tranported heavy artillery machine guns, jeeps , casualities and VIPs.dropped thousands of paratroopers especially on the d-day invasion and needed supplies for soldiers.G.Eisenhower attributes the c-47,2and half ton truck the jeep the bazooka the bulldozer and the atom bomb as the finest military equipement to end the war.After it transported dozens tons of food for the german population suffering famine, used as a gunship in the vietnamese war and until this day it is still flying commercially since 1935, the oldest airplane in service...
